If I was tensed before, then now I was on the verge of snapping into two.
"What do you mean?" Someone asked.
That sound sounded familiar, too familiar. Wait! It was me who spoke, and I didn't even realise it.
Uncle Joseph's face washed over in guilt as he glanced at Devon momentarily before looking away. As if he wasn't able to look into his eyes.
"Devon, Victor, Madison... I... I am your criminal for keeping my mouth shut for this long time. But I... I cannot hold it anymore."
"Shut the fuck up, you-"
Mason was stopped by Victor's raised hand. He warned his nephew with an angry glare, allowing Joseph to speak.
"That accident... it..."
I felt Devon instantly tensing beside me as if his body was frozen. But not only his but his parents' faces paled too.
"Devon didn't do it."
A pin-drop silence fell over the place as nobody said anything.
