DEVON
I sat on a bench in the parking lot of the City Hospital with my head in my hands, and my elbows resting on my knees. My head was pounding badly as if someone was mercilessly hammering it rapidly.
My body felt deprived of any energy while my mind was numb. It was already past ten in the morning, and I hadn't had any sleep in more than twenty-four hours.
I felt a presence beside me.
"Go away, Elena. Now now!" I warned her in a composed voice without looking up and with closed eyes.
Yet she didn't move.
Her stubbornness would get her in trouble with me someday!
I jerked up my head to let her know that I was not in a mood but was taken by surprise to see the blue set of eyes staring back at me.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I didn't bother to mask my dislike for the man as Elena was not there to scold me for the rudeness.
Jimmy didn't flinch and stared back at me with a calm face. Then only I realised that he was holding two cups of coffee in his hands.
