DEVON
As soon as the car stopped in front of the City Hospital, I jumped out of it, ignoring the calls from Christine from behind as I ran as fast as my feet carried me.
I had no sense of direction, only one detail in my mind. Floor number twelve.
I ran past people, pushing them out of my way while beads of sweat rolled down my face and neck.
I needed to reach there soon, or my heart would burst out of my chest, bringing either my end or the devastation that I could bring around me.
"Boss! Boss, please slow down!"
"hey, watch it man!"
"Sir! Sir please stop! You cannot run like that in the hospital."
"Security! Security!!"
Words fell on my deaf ears as all I could hear was how loudly my heart was thumping and a ringing sound that didn't seem to seize anytime soon.
Taking flights of stairs as the elevators were too crowded, I didn't realise how I reached the twelfth floor.
