ELENA
The next morning, after Devon and I got ready for work, he asked me to come with him to the office as he wanted me to see the copy of the footage the policeman had promised to send in half an hour.
He had already recovered the footage and was going to send it to Devon once he reached home after his night shift.
I called Joanna, telling her that I would be late by a couple of hours for work, but I held back the reason behind it.
Devon and I agreed to keep it a secret for now until we progress in this case.
We reached his office at the right time, and it felt good to walk through the same corridors and rows of workstations while greeting familiar faces.
We were near his cabin when a familiar blondie approached him with a smile.
"Good morning, Mr Devon!"
My eyes narrowed at the change of Mr Sanders or sir to Mr Devon.
"Good morning, Ashleigh! How are you doing?" Devon greeted her exceptionally well as I had never seen him greeting that way to his subordinates.
