Mason's head snapped up for the first time as he gawked at dad in pure shock.
"What?! But... I haven't done anything!"
I couldn't believe his pathetic attempt of denying the responsibilities. But that was what he always did, so it didn't exactly come as a shock.
Dad was now outrageous, and he took a threatening step in Mason's way, but Mr Ortiz pulled Mason back and away from his reach.
Dad glared at Mr Ortiz, but the latter stood straight and unwavered by his anger.
Again directing his heated glare at Mason, dad yelled, "The audacity you have to ask me that! Mason, Sanders Cements is one of our oldest companies, our trademark. I put that company in my sister's name because she helped in saving it from going bankrupt years ago.
And when she decided to not engage herself more in the business, she transferred all the powers to you and kept herself only as a nominal head.
