DEVON
I pursed my lips, but was I annoyed at dad?
Not even a bit!
In fact, I wanted to savour that moment and Mason's shock in the diary of my memories till the end of my time. How I longed to see the same disappointment and anger for Mason in dad's eyes that was always reserved for me.
"Victor, please" Mom tried to intervene, but she never did that for me.
"I have already given Devon and Ortiz my word Maddie. I am not going to say anything to Mason. And this was not for the mess he has made. But for the worry and pain, he caused my sister.
No one gets to hurt her and go unharmed." His last warning was directed to uncle Joseph than Mason.
But uncle only snorted at it, watching everything indifferently. He didn't even flinch when his son was beaten. He just... didn't care, I guess.
Mom tried to reach for Mason's face, but he just turned his head away, not letting her touch his bruises. Yet she refused to let go of him and stood by his side, holding his hand in support.
