We sat resting our backs on the headboard, our hands intertwined with each other.
Devon spoke softly and was now much calmer than before.
"I was a very underconfident kid back then."
And the very first sentence from his mouth made me snort in disbelief, even in that situation. Devon glanced my way with his lips tugged up a little.
"I used the past tense, Elena."
Well... seemed like he was in a better mood now.
"Okay... but that word doesn't suit you at all. Anyways go on."
He didn't comment on that before he continued, "I was scared, lonely, angry and frustrated at myself, at my parents, family, the Clarksons- the family who welcomed me and did everything they could for me, and every single person around me.
I was living in this black hole from where I could have never got out if..."
There... he trailed again, and this time, I knew better than pressing the matter. It was another secret I would need to find later.
