DEVON
Joanna kept avoiding meeting my eyes after the stunt she had pulled. A dance with Mason?
That was low.. too low!
I wouldn't have given a damn if it was some other woman, but this was Joanna. Elena's best friend. And if Mason tried to get to Elena using her, then I would not hesitate to cut her off from Elena's life.
I would deal with her later, I decided. The guests took our leaves, and soon our time to leave for home arrived too.
George had already arranged for Elena's stuff to get from Swindon. And thus, we decided to head directly home. I was talking with Mr Bell about something when I heard aunt Julianne's voice.
"Devon, it's getting late. I am sure the bride must be tired too. Let's go home. I will tell the driver to take the bags that you have with you.
Fredrick is waiting to welcome the newlyweds." She smiled.
I turned to look at my family, who stood separately waiting for us and hearing the entire conversation.
Elena looked at me, waiting for my response.
