I remained standing beside Devon with his hand in mine as he spoke to Ashleigh about some work. Christine got an urgent call, and she excused herself. I made a mental note of digging into this Ashleigh later with Christine.
After ten minutes, the woman finally left us alone, and I sighed in annoyance. But before Devon noticed that, I quickly maintained my composure.
"You were saying something before?" He asked, finally giving me his full attention.
"Yeah but... tell me one thing before that. Why does Ashleigh look after your personal finances too? Is that how it works in the Sanders family?" I asked with genuine curiosity.
Devon scratched the nape of his neck before answering sheepishly.
"There is no exact reason for that, and it doesn't work that way in the family. All the personal finances of every family member are managed by their financial advisers.
