Today, I found myself again at Devon's office as he paraded me like a prized possession he had won in a great battle from floor to floor and cabin to cabin under an excuse of distributing the wedding cards to his colleagues.
It was funny how he referred to people working under his dad as colleagues as he still didn't hold a single permanent position in those numerous companies that he was supposed to inherit from his father.
Technically he was even subordinate to the divisional managers in the Sanders Group. And yet people seemed to respect him only because of his name and the relationship he had with the chairman.
It was quite annoying for me to see them treating him like one of them. Because it was not out of the comfort of their relationship but because of the sole reason that Devon didn't hold any permanent position.
