DEVON
I didn't know how I rode us to my penthouse, but throughout the way, I kept glancing at that amazing woman sitting beside me with a calm face.
She didn't look as worried as before or concerned about what just happened with my parents. She was composed and determined. And the best part... she didn't seem to regret what she told them.
-"I am not going to leave this hand unless you want me to."-
My eyes travelled down to my hand that rested on the steering wheel. And yet it felt empty and cold. It twitched and craved Elena's warmth. The way she held it firmly in hers in front of my family.
And that moment was more special for me because... that was the first time anyone had stood by my side after...
Getting lost in those memory lanes brought pain in my heart, but now... they also began to bring guilt. I shouldn't be thinking about the past when I had made up my mind of building a great future with Elena.
I should focus on her... only her!
