ELENA
Not paying much attention to the ruined flowers in the garden around the house, I slipped the key into the keyhole and twisted the knob to open the door. It opened with an irritating creaking sound which reminded me to oil the old rusty hinges.
The sun was about to set, and the entire surroundings were painted in the pretty play of colours. The mild pinkish-golden hue was spread inside the house as I stepped in.
I removed the shoes and hung the keys on a keyholder beside the door when I caught the reflection in the small mirror nearby.
My eyes widened in shock, and I turned around at a lightning speed. What I saw left my mouth ajar in aghast.
The living room was RUINED!
The old couch was turned upside down and was slashed with something sharp. The cotton inside it was peeking out with an ugly grin. The coffee table was broken and the chairs also faced the same fate.
