ELENA
Devon drove in silence while I stared out of the window, repeating his words in my mind. That man really confused me. I didn't understand what was holding him back from giving his one hundred per cent in this relationship.
Though I was not any different from him in that aspect, at least I was willing to try if he took a step forward.
His every word made my brain undergo a whole triathlon, and yet there was no end result. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realise when the car stopped.
"Elena?"
"Huh?" I was startled, blinking rapidly before facing him.
"We have reached." He said.
I nodded meekly and turned to unlock the door. But what I saw stopped my hand in midair. I turned again to face Devon in confusion.
"I would have taken you home but I have some important work to do. And I don't want to leave you alone for the night. So I thought...." He trailed off unsurely, gauging my expressions.
