I was at the factory, checking the eastern wing of the establishment. The construction was going in full swing. I got more workers from our other sites, as the ones in Swindon were not experts in construction but in machine handling.
It was actually a mystery to me how these small-town people expertly handle the complicated machines and technology so easily.
The answer lay in the presence of a technical institute not far away from Swindon. The people, both men and women from Swindon and a few neighbouring towns preferred to continue the legacy of their ancestors and opted for various courses in that technical institute.
Hence they were in great demand in the market. The only thing that stopped Swindon from growing into a prosperous town was their unshakable love for their town.
People here refused to leave their ancestral land and were stuck here with whatever little they could make by working in the neighbouring areas.
