DEVON
"How did I stop you from getting any sleep last night?"
I matched her gaze and smirked. "By riding the horses of my thoughts in wild, wild directions!"
Her blush intensified, and she almost coughed in shock. Masking her blush, she turned around and got under the covers.
I tried to do the same, but she snatched the duvet from my hands.
Glaring at me, she hissed again, "You should go back to the guest house and rest."
"I have no energy left to drive, Elena. Let me crash here for a couple of hours and then I will leave." I moulded my voice to sound sweeter and more requesting.
She must have sensed that change as her expressions changed, but she remained firm in her stance.
"Fine but you cannot sleep on my bed."
"Why?"
"Because... because it is not right for a man and a woman to share a bed before marriage." She mumbled, fighting hard to keep a straight face.
