The woman gaped at me with a pale face, unable to retort back. I was ready to take any of her rhetoric and crush it under my feet.
I caught a few people smiling and nodding their heads in appreciation.
Seemed like it was not only me who she tried to preach.
"I... I am sorry, Miss Bell!" She uttered.
But I ignored her and turned to Joanna. No matter how many mouths I shut, that was not going to change the number on the bill paper.
"What now, Elena?" Joanna asked me in a lower voice glancing at the bill.
"I don't know. Now that the case is in front of the court and dad is suspended from work, I cannot claim any health insurance or the health policies that government offers the industry workers." I said, rubbing my forehead.
Joanna's face morphed into helplessness as she said, "I am sorry Elena, but there's not enough cash left on my account.
But... I can ask Jimmy to arrange some money. I am sure he can-"
