Dad and I were engaged in a heated stare-down after his outburst, which made everyone around us tense.
"How dare you pull that stunt last night? Have you forgotten who you are? You are a Sanders for god's sake!" His voice thundered, and from the corner of my eyes, I saw aunt Julianne flinching at dad's harsh tone.
But I stood strong, unflinching.
"I am well aware of my idenity dad. And that is why I proposed the woman I want to be a part of my life directly for a marriage without asking her to be my girlfriend or offering her a trial-and-error thing." I told him calmly.
"You want THAT woman to be a part of your life?" Mom asked as if I had grown two heads.
"Devon, dear, I have this long list of women who are ten times more beautiful and attractive than her. They belong to these influential families, have a good education and know everything about our world.
