Azreal's eyes were no longer his. Azreal has accepted the dragon that was laid dormant deep inside his soul. The dragon that goes by the name, Sepulchre has granted Azreal some of its power. Azreal started giving out a strong black aura all over his body. His hair has started to risen. His arms is protected by a miniaturized skeletal dragon arms.
"So he's around the same level as I am..." I was referring to the last time I tried to use my own dragon powers.
Zenith then shakes her head and told me, "Not really, White. He mentioned Sepulchre. That's like a place to bury something. Like a crypt. I think it's not just any dragon. But a dracolich."
"A dracolich...that...kinda fits him." I agreed.
A dracolich is basically an undead skeletal dragon. It has no muscle or skin. Just the bones. Where are its internal organs? Nobody knows. Dracolich is like an entirely different abomination that people like necromancers would make. However, I can't really discern whether or not that's the case for this dragon. We still don't know much about these magnificent creature and now we are witnessing the power of an undead ancient dragon.
It looks like even his legs are now covered with dracolich's bones. Scratch that, his entire body was covered by dracolich bones. The only offset to this is that the 'armor' doesn't force him to walk on all four but it has modified itself so that it would be in humanoid form. That's a pretty nice detail to accommodate its user.
With all have been said and done, Azreal lunges himself toward Error. Azreal used his draconic arm to try and scratch him with it. But Error immediately blocks it with a shield of his own that suddenly appeared from his arm.
"What the...I didn't see that shield before. Where did he hide it?" I wondered.
With his right hand busy blocking the claw, Error's left hand suddenly rumbled as a metallic-like thing started to grow and transform into a sword.
"Is that like...nanomachines or something?" Zenith makes a guest. "How is he able to obtain something like that?"
"It maybe has some kind of relation to his unique magic that we don't know yet." I told her.
The sword then attacked Azreal as he was swung few meters away from Error. Azreal shakes his head and regained his composure but Error was relentless as he continues attack Azreal with his sword and shield combination. Azreal blocks all of Error's attack that was a mix between slashes and bashes from his sword and shield. Error throws his shield to the air, distracting Azreal as he focused on the shield. Error took the opportunity to kick Azreal right at his stomach and then used the non lethal part of his sword on Azreal's protected face.
Azreal was able to endure the damage thanks to the dragon bones protecting him but Error won't give him any chances. Error was proficient in his fighting maneuver. It was almost like someone has teach him how to do martial arts of some kind. Not letting up, Azreal roared as loud as he could, distracting Error for a moment. To which Azreal then did a leg sweep to Error. Error falls down to the ground as Azreal tries to crush him with his claws. But the claw was immediately guarded by a larger shield this time. The sword and shield was gone and replaced by that larger shield.
"If it is nanomachine...does it mean he can create anything with it?" I asked Zenith.
"Seems like that's the case."
I pointed out, "And it looks like hand to hand combat is going to be a lot tougher against him. Unlike the other champions this one knows how to fight."
Azreal and Error got back up as they stared at each other awaiting for their next move.
"This ends now!" Azreal shouted.
Azreal started to summon his undead army as it rooted Error to the ground, disabling him from moving. Azreal then began charging up his Infinitum Energy to his head. He was charging up for a dragon breath. With both the legs and hands tied up by the undead legion, Error's nanomachines is useless. Azreal's dragon breath has finished charging up. He lets it out as black burning flames started to transmogrify all over its target.
Once the flames was over, we were able to see that the Chaos Champion was kneeling down. His armor has started to melt. We figured that it was over but then he casually stood up without any pressure. His nanomachines then started to replace his melted armor and created a brand new one.
"No..." Azreal lets out a sigh.
Error then immediately creates a spear and threw it to Azreal. Azreal was able to dodge it but it was a distraction as Error was already close approaching him. Error shoulder tackled him as Azreal lands to the ground in pain. It looks like the armor that the nanomachines had made was filled with long spikes on its shoulder. Error then created another spear in which finally, he stabbed Azreal abdomen. Blood begins to spurt out from his mouth as well as where the spear was stabbed.
"We're done, here. Next!" claimed Error.
"Az!" I yelled as Zenith and I ran toward Azreal.
"I told you it's a one on one. Not two on one. Or else Azreal Azmuth gets more bloody." He warned us.
The two of us stopped and looked at each other.
Zenith told me, "You've exhausted yourself, already. Let me do this."
"No. I still have my dragon." I explained to her.
She then responded, "No! I don't want you to go crazy again. That dragon of yours is...unnatural."
"So does any other ancient dragons..." I said.
She shakes her head as she said, "I'm sorry, White." She then pushes me so hard that I fell to the ground.
Zenith quickly transformed into her half dragon mode where only her eyes are changed and a bright strong aura exuding all over her. There was no skeletal armor to protect her like Azreal. Her mode or form are a lot weaker than Azreal's.
"Zen, no!" I yelled.
There was no way she is capable of fighting against Error. Zenith's own body is entirely fragile and she's not even proficient enough to fight directly. Even someone stronger like Azreal couldn't slow Error down.
Error readjust his neck as he blocked Zenith's first strike. Zenith other free hand then started to glow as an icy looking ball began to be created. She hurled it at Error's face. Which definitely dealt some damage. In fact, it did. Error throws away his helmet and revealed his face. He looked like someone that's not too far from our age range. But I had the strangest feeling of whether or not I have met the person before.
Error then makes another helmet and covered himself. Zenith continues to hurl out frozen energy ball to Error. Not letting it all up, Zenith also began to use the fire side of her icy hot dragon power. Her left hand threw ice energy while her right hand was throwing fire energies. Consecutive energy ball were being thrown as Error tries to defend himself behind a nanomachine wall. Zenith then decided to combine both of her arms as well as charging up for a dragon breath. It didn't took to long before she lets it all out and shot it toward Error.
"ZEN!!!" I shouted with all my strength left.
Smokes envelops the area. Once it has been settled, Zenith can be seen still standing as she continuously breathing in and out. Error was lying down to the floor. Unfortunately, it was all for naught. The Error that we've witnessed in front of us suddenly disappears itself like a hologram being turned off. Zenith's had used up all she could gather from her own dragon as her aura started to disappear.
To make matters worse, the real Error suddenly stood behind her as the smoke finally settles in. Zenith turned and tried to punch Error but Error immediately grabbed her neck. He then raised her up, choking her.
"Error, that's enough!" I yelled.
He chuckled. He then swung Zenith to the ground as he remain to hold her by her neck. The ground made an impactful hole around Zenith.
"Is this all you dragon incarnations have? I thought you would be a lot stronger than that." Error was breathing heavily.
"Let her go, Error!" I was already standing near him.
I didn't try to hit him because I knew that would be a bad idea considering that Zenith's neck is still within Error's grasp.
"And what? So that I can fight you?" He finally lets his hand go and stood up, "Don't make me laugh. What difference will it make even if you tried to use your own dragon powers!"
I stuttered, "No..."
"Even after all of this!" Error continued, "With or without magic! You fail to save and protect your friends! From then to now! You have always been useless!"
His words strike a chord to me. It reminded me a lot of the insults that I used to hear way back when I never had this amazing powers of mine. Way before Team Stardust, way before The Seven Month War...way before many things...I was always useless. No one wanted to talk to me simply because I was too boring. No one even bothered to approach me or even notice me. It almost felt like I was a ghost.
I kneel down, losing all my strengths. Both of my hand grabbed my head as I tried to suppress all those deep old harsh memories. Those bad times where I felt like I was nothing. Those times where I felt useless. Useless...My vision began to fade away as I begin to white out.
