Rex left during the night before the sunrise. He needed to find a way to protect the First Realm. On his way to the Sixth Realm's Maintainer area, a beautiful and majestic young man and woman appeared before Rex.
"Dearest young man, we are cultivators from an immortal realm. Can you help us find a way to help the poor?" The man asked.
"I am his dearest wife. We may have beautiful appearances but be warned for we are indeed slightly powerful." The woman replied.
To Rex both of them were weak in his eyes. They did have a good foundation and their eyes were indeed telling the truth. Rex decided to give them the biggest chance of their life.
"Are you two willing to follow my direction to indeed help the poor?"
The duo were excited because they could finally achieve their goals.
"I have a concubine and Battle Maid that are guarding the First Realm. Their life forces have just been rejuvenated and need me to help them. I have to leave and cannot stay, since you two are needing to help the poor.
We can surely find a way for you two to indeed help the poor. As all life matters, you two will also have trouble in the future. How do you plan to stay healthy?"
The man and woman looked at each other. Their decision making based not on words but their expressions. Rex did not know how long they could indeed hold the First Realm as the Maintainers. He knew enough that he could send them medicine bags that would help them through the start and rough patches.
"Well, what do we have to do for the long run?" The man spoke with wisdom.
He knew the first thoughts through his mind and his wife's mind was to accept. Greedily accepting such a good promise was always akin to self destruction.
"Being good people like yourselves. I will explain how these Realms seem to operate."
The man and woman were shocked to hear such good fortune to them. Good people like yourselves is seldom from their Realm. Hearing that this Realm operates differently, means good things can always happen in the greater picture.
"There are Nine Mortal Realms. These Realms have people who cannot cultivate in them. Furthermore, the First Realm is where people decide their cultivation path by gathering pieces that will become their Dantian.
Watching over this Realm will become not only a great blessing to me and my women. You will be able to watch over growing people and help them in ways that they would never imagine.
Will most of them succeed, no. Will most of them just decide that somewhere along the way that is enough? Will the people who you guide find the way into the sacred Heavenly Realm? What about the demons? How do those who seemed evil try to help or betray the righteous?
These questions will always be on your minds. Remember, being cultivators means finding your own path and success. I have found my path and am trending my way to my success. Will I become someone worthy of being an enemy to? Will I choose friends who always backstab me or try to rob me?
Will the women close to me decide that no more will I be close to Rex? This question haunts my dreams. I believe that I will not always do what is right and will eventually get burned. Thoughts and prayers are always trying to help me make sure that I do not step too over the edge."
The man and woman decided to leave the area. Too much was at stake being close to this guy.
"We believe we are not cut out for this kind of work. Helping the poor and weak is always our priority but trying to help guide so many people will eventually kill us and rob us of our chances of becoming true Immortals." The man replied.
The woman decided to follow her husband. Within minutes of leaving Rex's side, a shiny speck in the sky found it's way to the couple. In a instant, their lives were forever ruined. They could no longer leave the Maintainer area. Their cultivation levels sealed forever unable to be broken. The right eye of both of them blinded and the left eye burned away from both.
Yet, within minutes of their disposal. Another couple found their way into the Maintainer area. Rex decided that he would not speak to them.
"Summoning is amazing!" A young boy spoke.
"Calm down, we need to know what just happened." A young girl spoke.
"Who cares? We have the chance to not die against a man-eating reptile." The boy laughed.
Rex found it funny how joyful the boy was and how careful the girl was. As the duo of children found that Rex was not trying to speak to them.
They went along with him. Their joyful chatter making him smile. Yet, when asked what they truly wanted. The only answer Rex got was be happy.
When asked what makes them happy. Their answer was pranking, studying, and cultivating.
Rex infused a little Demonic Qi into his index fingers and injected the children with profound Qi.
The duo sat down in lotus positions and began to cultivate like no other. Their minds telling them to eject the foreign Qi, their bodies greedily accepting the Qi, the boy became much taller and stronger instantly, while the girl became much prettier and deadly.
Rex felt that after watching them for almost a day. He could at least return to the house of his wife in peace. He knew that these two could not protect the First Realm.
Before he could leave, a voice whispered, "Does thou think these two have the qualities to make the First Realm better?"
Rex whispered, "Even if they do, they are children and cannot fight against what they need to. I may have strengthened them but their minds are not ready."
"You are truly a wonderful person."
When Rex heard that, the two were overjoyed at a comment that each spoke.
"Come on."
The children followed like a mother hen guiding her children. What they would do would indeed change the First Realm.
