As the group advanced a weird sign appeared on the way. It was the sign of a legend written in a foreign language.
"It looks like a mix between Egyptian and Japanese writing." Rex thought.
His thought was partially correct but the biggest problem was that he could not fully understand it.
"Is this a memory test?" Liz asked.
She could tell that this was a faded Egyptian writing from her classes back on Earth. What made her ask that question was the fact that it read memory instead of legend in the hieroglyphics as a name.
Instead, something told Rex that what Liz said was partial correct. It was a test for a legend in the making. This is why the Fifth, Seventh, and Ninth Realms are Legendary Realms to cultivators.
These Realms make the cultivators into legends by the Karma Tests. Although, the other Realms test the ability to evolve. These Realms need the purest part of the cultivator in making the climb.
People will always be able to ascend higher if they want to. They cannot ascend into the cultivation realm if the person failed the Karma Test.
This is why so many people either stop or do not try to ascend. If they fail, they never will be able to ascend. If they just stop, nothing bad ever happens.
War God knew what this test was supposed to be. Yet, everything was different with Rex. Even she felt that something big was stirring with Rex and she could not figure out what.
"A war that he could win and still not get the Karma affection from it? Something major is going to happen within the Realms and when it does. I have to be at the frontlines protecting Rex as much as possible. Yet, these tests are more like something from that childish game." War God thought.
"Correct. This is the Legend Game that most children play. However, the rules are different in the Stairway. The Legend Game states that only a male can take a female. Here anything can happen and the fact that the girls also barely understand the game helps. Be sure to not give direct helps but you can help give some pointers.
For this round, the winner has to take the full amount of each attack. Be sure to choose wisely." Karma whispered.
War God knew that this was something that would change the fabric of the Stairway. Nothing good gained would come from explaining it anyways.
"Hey everyone, how about we try a game?" War God asked.
This caught everyone by surprise.
"What kind of game?" Iris excitedly asked.
"We need to make a decision on someone who can receive a brutal beatdown." She said.
"That was incorrect and too much information. For now, it is acceptable." Karma whispered.
Everyone looked at La Vie. Even though this was Rex's trial. Others were able to participate if they could do the show.
"If I need to, I will accept." She replied.
"Nah. It is my Stairway and I will do it. I was just wondering how hard you would actually punch me." Rex instantly replied.
She gulped because as a Battle Maiden she was not supposed to hurt her Master. Here in the Stairway, things could get complicated.
"Alright. Let us do it." Rex said.
As the group moved forward. A pair of red eyes followed and took Amber in control. She instantly darted and punched Rex.
Since War God had leaked a little too much information. The rules slightly changed. Here, instead of Rex dishing out the damage he could do. He had to take the amount of damage each one can do.
A massive Qi Smite came from above and landed on Rex. As Amber moved away everyone was surprised. This was not Amber in any fashion.
"Nice Smite. Do I get a chance to respond?" Rex asked.
Immediately Amber fainted. Rex rushed over and carried her. This was not the way the test should have been but it was now a good chance to see how much defense Rex truly has.
As the group continued, War God felt the eyes trying to get her. She was resolved not to hurt Rex and any fashion. She had already made him hurt by destroying the Fifth Realm.
The eyes pried into La Vie's Soul. The Evil inside could fight against the eyes but knew that the chance of hurting La Vie was too great.
"What is it?" The Evil asked.
"I need La Vie to attack Rex. Since the Stairway will not judge but ask for participates this will be no means be a scar on her Soul, unless she or you will it to be."
The Evil tried to find a good excuse for it not to but this was honestly a good experience for her.
"She will have the right to choose." The Evil said.
Thus the two turned their attention to La Vie.
