Rex was unconscious when the group exited the portal. Rex had broken parts of his Soul when fighting against the Dark Abyss. He was trying to fight back the fragment inside his Soul.
"Please stop this hurts." Rex trying to defend his own Soul.
Just measly grazing his arm was enough to send near death shocks through a mortal body. Inside the Soul, it was not.
"R P T S." Is what the fragment said.
Rex thought he saw the words repair the Soul. He did not have any way to know for certain.
Rex looked at himself. From what he could see, nothing was damaged or hurt. If someone else were to look at him. He looked like he was ready to die at any moment due to the sheer number of displaced members.
The left forearm of Rex looked like it was ready to just fall off and disappear. The left shoulder was about to pop out of the back.
The right leg was cut in several places. If blood could have flowed out, Rex would be dead already. The left leg had a tentacle around it, constantly shifting. It looked like a cybernetic limb constantly shifting around.
A surge of feeling good came from Rex's left leg. Rex looked like it closer and saw a tentacle from the fragment. Rex could see that cuts were being healed from the tentacle.
"Are you healing me?" Rex asked.
The fragment nodded in agreement. Rex looked down again and said, "Heal one limb at a time. If you try to do more, I will attack you again."
The fragment understood what Rex said and followed the instructions.
Rex wanted a way to sit and watch the fragment heal his Soul. The fragment changed into a recliner in Rex's memory.
Rex just watched his left leg get completely recovered first. The fragment waited for Rex to see what was next.
"Let me stand up and see how the leg feels first." Rex said.
Once he was back up and standing, he could honestly tell the difference in how his body members felt. He could see not any visible markings on his Soul without the help of the fragment.
"Heal, my left arm next." Rex said.
Once the tentacle grazed his arm. Rex was in more pain than before.
"HURRY BWFORE I CHADE MY MUND." Rex could not handle the pain.
Rex felt his left should get popped back into place. He felt completely destroyed when it happened.
"Did I die?" He felt his consciousness fading in his Soul.
"No. That was my tentacle having to reconnect your existence together from the inside." The tentacle spoke inside Rex.
"Now what? Will I become the next Dark Abyss because of that?" Rex was getting angry.
"Fear not young man. For life has ups and downs. Success and failures, I will give you the best answer I can." The tentacle stopped the healing process. "If you truly want to become the next Dark Abyss, you must live your life wanting nothing but certain things. You have already chosen to neglect two of those things."
"Unless something drastic happens, I would not be surprised if you actually make a new path for everyone." The tentacle finished speaking.
Rex closed his eyes and thought about what the tentacle had said. He was truly interested in learning what makes a Dark Abyss.
"What does the Dark Abyss need?" Rex asked.
"Fairy Blood is the most important. Not only is it rich in Dark Qi. It will also increase Qi quality by leaps and bonds."
Rex shuddered at the thought of his children being rich in Dark Qi.
"The next thing is wanting evil to complete the cycle of greater strength. No matter the way they gain, good always finds the way to overcome evil."
Rex knew that as well. He was not going to allow evil to hurt his family or allow his family to become evil. That was that.
"With these two check marks out for you completely, unless something drastic happens. You will not become a Dark Abyss."
Rex felt a sense of happiness from his inside. He decided to allow the fragment to heal his body completely.
"You can heal me. Just make sure you do it slowly, okay?" Rex said with happiness.
"Of course. My small tentacle inside you will help me make sure that your inside is healed up as well as the outside." The fragment said.
Rex got reclined back and started to just sleep. Before he knew it, he was sleeping peacefully both in his Soul and body.
Outside
"Rex is finally asleep. We need to find a place to sleep." The Heavenly Saint said.
The Demon King of Will opened a wooded area. He kept the tree limbs over them for better shelter.
Then he Willed a decent sleeping area for each of them. He made sure that each person could be facing each other in an emergency.
The group proceeded to rest for a few days. Firstly, they did not know how damaged Rex was. Secondly, they wanted to wait until Rex was ready. Lastly, the Heavenly Saint and Demon King of Will wanted to train a little more together.
The next morning comes, and Rex is still asleep. The Heavenly Saint heads out to find something to eat. He had wanted to try and become strong like Rex. He knew he was greatly underpowered.
That was not going to stop him from using everything in his power to become strong. He waited at a certain spot for any animal to come through. Nothing came, and midmorning had already passed.
He continued the search elsewhere. No matter where he went. He would not see any animals for nurshiment.
"Better see if he can, Will something for us."
The Heavenly Saint proceeded to head back to their camp.
"It has been a good while since the Heavenly Saint left. I guess he is not having any luck." The Demon King of Will spoke.
He looked over to Rex. He tried to Will anything he could about him. Nothing came to him. The only pieces he could see from the battle were the pieces he saw.
This was the first time that something like this had happened. With nothing else better to do. The Demon King of Will went to a river a little farther away than what the Heavenly Saint went.
He proceeded to catch fish. Once he had six in hand, he went back to camp.
"Your Soul is completely repaired. You will not be able to awaken just yet. I have to attach myself to your Soul and help your Soul get stronger." The fragment came out and spoke to Rex inside his tent.
