Upon entering the second opening, Rex could smell the blood in the air. It was stronger than the blood from the previous spider.
Rex slowly went in. He kept his guard up. Getting to the cavern, there were two giant spiders dead. The two of them were the same size but were smaller than the previous spider.
Rex asked, "Spider Queen, are these two spiders part of the ten?"
"Yes." She replied instantly.
The duo looked around. The Spider Queen felt something in the shadows. She did not know if it was a friend or foe. She kept a singular eye focused on each of the shadows.
Rex walked towards the end of the cavern. He did not know that there was a pathway that overlooked this cavern. He was following what seemed like a line going that way.
Once Rex reached the pathway, he had to bend over and walk up the pathway.
The Shadow's pov
Five minutes before
"Time for you two to die." The Shadow glared at the two spiders in front of him.
"NEVER!" One of them shouted.
"IF YOU CAN!" The other one shouted.
Their voices did not carry outside.
The Shadow swung a shadow covered sword six times. When he did, each of the spiders was cut six times.
"I hope that I did not make a ruckus with these two. If I did, my master would be mad." The Shadow sighed.
As if time stopped, he felt a powerful presence coming close.
"Time to move." The Shadow darted to the pathway.
When he did, he unknowingly left a line towards the pathway.
He overlooked the cavern. He saw Rex come in. The presence he felt was that of like a Demon King, almost a Demon God. When he looked at the Spider Queen on top of Rex's head. He knew she was a Heavenly creature. This made the Shadow fear for his master's life.
He did not want his master to fight this monster. He watched Rex walk towards the pathway. He widened his eyes, seeing that Rex was coming up the pathway.
"Why does this monster seem to be coming to me?!" The Shadow felt his entire being almost die.
He did nothing but wait for the monster to come to him. Almost when Rex was at the top, the Shadow felt Mortal Qi come from Rex.
"The monster whom I felt is a Mortal?!" The Shadow first questioned and then shouted inside in his.
When Rex reached the top, he stared at the Shadow. The Shadow looked at Rex and felt a sense of peace coming from him.
"This is extremely weird." The Shadow shivered.
Rex's pov
I walked upwards a pathway, even though I had to bend down. I kept trekking upwards. When I finally reached the top. I saw this shadow man. For some reason, I did not feel like he was an enemy.
Despite that, I knew I had to speak first.
"Who are you? My name is Rex, and I am from the Mortal Realms." I asked.
The Shadow did not seem to want to talk. Rex then saw the Shadow shiver. He just waited until the Shadow was ready.
"Can I ask who you are?" The Shadow asked.
"I am Rex. Can I know your name?" I replied.
"I have no name. I am Shadow of my Mistress, who is a Demonic Lich." The Shadow replied.
"What are the duties of the Demonic Lich?" I asked.
"They are the overseers of the Demon God. They keep peace within the Demon Realm, which also falls under the Demon King's territory. There is not one currently." The Shadow started.
"Why is there not a Demon King?" I asked.
"Have you ever met someone or know of someone who felt that their life was different somewhere else?" The Shadow asked.
"I know that there is a Demon that looks exactly like me. I know people sat demons are bad. Some are, however, I believe if given a chance. We can learn from each other. I already know how demons are born nowadays." I replied.
The Shadow looked confused. So I used my usual tactic like this and revealed how demonic I could become.
As if the cavern felt fear, the spiders all started to act weird. I did not know if it was because of me, or maybe they thought it was a spider.
"Congratulations on thinking that a spider upgraded here. Now we are target number one. My Mistress is supposed to be heading to the back of the cavern to hunt the necromancer. Maybe you can help kill him." The Shadow asked.
"Of course, that is why I am here." I replied.
The Shadow smiled because at least he had a partner now. He could effectively get the necromancer to his Mistress. The question became if Rex could fight against everything inside the cavern.
"Say, do you think you could make enough racket to draw everything out to you? If you can, do you think you will win?" The Shadow asked.
"Of course. I can make racket and draw everything to me. However, I do not have the tools to face against everyone now." I replied.
"What do you need?" The Shadow replied.
"Two axes." I replied.
The Shadow frowned because he only had access to his Mistress's collection, and she only had three axes. If it was swords or spears, she had more than enough to equip an army of ten million and still have a couple for herself.
"I hope my Mistress is pleased with you. She only has three axes, and each of them are at least Legendary Demon Axes. One is a pair, while the other is a Godly Demon Axe." The Shadow said.
I took a peek at the three axes, and my eyes could not believe what they were seeing.
"Can I take all three for good measure?" I asked.
The Shadow became upset. He already was allowing Rex to see them. He truly did not want Rex to end up on his Mistress's bad side.
"I shall accept you taking them. If she dares to punish me, she shall blame you instead. Are we in agreement?" The Shadow asked.
"Of course." I replied.
The two of us started down the pathway, and the Shadow was first. Once we both exited the pathway, we found ourselves in an unexpected reunion.
