Chapter 84 - Eighty four

Four more rounds of the drink and I was the only one holding the jar Everytime the music stopped. It was starting to feel like I was being targeted.

"Here you go," April held the shot glass to my face again at the fifth round. I tried to take it from her but it slipped and fell. When I looked up, there were two April's.

"Guys, that's enough." I heard Uche and turned to him. They were three of him. I really should have listened to him when he suggested we left after I was asked to drink for the third time.

He took my hand and helped me on my feet. He was leading me out but I lost my balance and almost fell. I heard some giggles from the others; I couldn't point out exactly, the people laughing at me, but I could hear April.

I felt like crying all of a sudden. I was about to when I felt my feet off the ground. Uche lifted me and carried me out. When I looked over his shoulder, I saw everyone staring. They had stopped laughing.

"Put me down!" I demanded when we left through Kim's from door.

"No, you're just gonna fall again." Uche said calmly. He must think I'm joking.

"Put me down, Uche!"

"You're gonna fall..."

"I won't!" I argued."Why did you carry me when everyone was watching? What if they find out about us?"

"I don't care anymore, Julie. Let them find out. At least, April will take a break with being annoying." He stopped walking and looked at me while I was still in his arms.

"Am I heavy?" I asked. I had asked him to put me down but I really did not want that. I like being carried like a princess.

"It's just 1, it's too early to go back home." He sighed.

"1 am?" I asked and heard him sigh again.

"I can't even suggest we go to the park, you're drunk as shit."

"No, I'm not." I denied.

"Okay, how many head have I got?"

"One." I lied. I was seeing five heads on his neck but if I was honest, he'd think I'm drunk...am I drunk?"Let's go to the park. I also don't wanna go home yet." I smiled in an attempt to convince him.

"You're drunk. We're going home. I'll sneak you back to your room and I'll..."

"Noooo," I shook my head.

Uche sighed and put me down. I frowned, not wanting to leave his arms.

"Alright, take two steps on your own without staggering and we'll go to the park." He let go of my hand and suddenly, it felt like the earth beneath me was crumbling.

I looked up at him to hold me again but he didn't. Instead, he took two steps back."Walk to me; show me you're not drunk." He said and I swallowed.

It's just two steps. I can do that. I can walk. Walking isn't hard. I took one step and almost fell but I did my best not to. I really didn't want to go home.

Shit. I am drunk. I can't even stand on my own. I can't walk. Shit.

"Uche," I called when my legs became too shaky."Hold me, Uche." I froze where I stood, scared I'd fall if I took another step.

Uche wounded him arms around me and held me."See?" He proved his point."You are drunk. Let's just go home." He kissed my forehead after shoving my front hair behind my ears.

He let go of me again but that was so he could carry me on his back. He turned around and instructed,"Get on my back."

"Are we really going back home?" I pouted, hoping I could buy him with a cute face.

"Yes." He said as he gripped my thighs to keep me firm on his back.

We walked past a few houses, heading back home but then a thought hit me. I should cry. He would change his mind if I cried. Or would he?

In the state I was, it was easy to bring tears to my eyes. I sniffed loudly to get his attention and he stopped walking.

"Are you crying?" He asked but I figured that saying yes would be too obvious so I kept quiet."Julie?"

"I don't want to go back home." I muttered and heard him sigh. He turned around and headed in another direction. I smiled. It did work.

"Wipe your tears on my shirt, I don't want tears in your eyes." He said. I did as he said and ended up pressing my nose against his neck later. He smelt nice. It was a mixed smell of his perfume and the smell of alcohol. And sweat.

The thought of alcohol reminded me of my mum and how she would drown herself in it always.

"Uche?" I called.

"Hmmm?"

"Why don't you ever talk about your mum?"

Silence. Maybe I shouldn't have asked. Now that I think of it, I haven't mentioned anything about my mum either.

"It's because there isn't much about her to talk about." I heard him after a while.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well..." He sighed, probably contemplating if to talk about it."My mum left me with my dad when I turned six."

"Oh." I never knew.

"Yeah," I heard him."I don't really have much memory of back then except for the times she'd argue with my dad. Funny right?" He chuckled dryly.

"Are you sleeping?" He asked when I didn't say anything after he spoke about his mum.

"I'm awake," I let him know.

"Good. We're here," he informed me so I just off his back. I don't even know where I got the energy to do that.

"It's locked," I pouted on realizing the gate to the park was locked.

"Wait here," Uche said and climbed over the gate while I watched. I saw him go over it and disappear in silence. I became scared.

"Babe?" I called and got no response so I panicked."Uche?" I whispered loudly yanked on the gate.

"Shh," I heard him. He came back. Tears were beginning to form in my eyes so I wiped them away.

"Where did you go?" I tried fitting my head through the gate as I asked.

"I went to get the keys." He opened the gate so I hugged him, worried he might disappear again.

He took me to the mini bridge we had visited the first time I went to the park with him. We sat on the grass closeby and gazed at the stars together. Well, it was more of me staring adoringly at him while he gazed at the stars.

Gosh, he's so pretty.

"Uche," I called and got him to look at me. He looked on at me, expecting me to say something but I didn't have anything to say, I just wanted him to look at me.

He understood when seconds passed and I still didn't say anything. He leaned ina dn brought his lips to mine, kissing me briefly before looking back at the night sky.

"Let's have sex," I said out of nowhere and he turned his head back to me, slowly with a smirk.

"Nah, you're drunk." He said to me just when I expected he would go for it.

"I'm nottttt," I argued but he didn't say anything more, he just looked back at the sky.

"Ucheeee," I called and went and sat on him. His smile got broader and I knew he really wanted to mess with me because why is he smiling at me and saying he won't fuck me, when he knows his smile turns me on.

Oh wait, he doesn't know yet.

"Let me guess, you're thinking of something crazy right now. Yeah?" He asked and I just swallowed and shrugged, grabbing the collar of his jacket and pulling him towards myself.

"If I weren't drunk, would we be having sex right now?" I asked in his face. He laughed.

"God, you're so drunk. I should make a video and show you later."

"I'm not that drunk," I scoffed.

"No, you're not," he let out a sarcastic laugh. I got mad and got off of him. I started towards the creek and turned back to see if he was watching me. He was.

I smiled and put one of my foot into the water. I turned around and saw he looked concerned. I laughed and got into the water with both my feet.

"What are you doing?" He got up and rushed to me.
