Chapter 25 - Am I Your Mate?

Trustin was stunned to see Elysia in his shirt. Her hair was wet since she had taken a shower. However, Elysia's eyes were not on him. She was focused on drying her hair with his towel. She went toward the dressing table and sat on the puffy stool. Picking up the hairdryer, she started drying her hair.

Elysia turned her head around, and her eyes landed on him. He was staring at her like a predator. She averted her gaze from him since it made her feel strange. Soon, she switched off the hairdryer and stood up.

"I will sleep in the living room. The couch is quite large there," Elysia said.

"Why would you sleep outside when we have a bedroom?" Trustin arched his eyebrow at her. He got out of bed and continued, "You can sleep here. I will sleep in the living room."

He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable around him anymore.

"It's your house, Trustin. You should sleep on the bed," Elysia said.

"It is yours too. We are married," Trustin reminded her of her status as his wife. "You have beautiful legs. You look sexy." The sudden remark made Elysia's eyes grow big.

"Fuck," Trustin mumbled under his breath, and he quickly went out of the bedroom. He did not want to be near her since it would be difficult for him to control himself.

Elysia felt the heat on her cheeks. She had gotten this compliment from Atreus many times, but she didn't feel this way when Trustin said it. She touched her cheeks and looked down at herself.

Elysia recalled the webpages she read before dinner about werewolves and realized Trustin's pheromones must be acting up. The reason why he disappeared from her sight.

Elysia walked to the bed slowly when Trustin opened the door, and she turned to face him.

"I forgot to take the blanket," Trustin said, and he went to the left wall cupboard to take out a thin and soft duvet.

"Why don't you sleep on the bed?" Elysia asked before he could step out of the room.

"With you?" Trustin arched his eyebrow at her.

Elysia was unable to answer him. She should have said NO, but she didn't. Why?

"Forget it. If I will sleep with you, things may escalate to a different level. You may hate me then. I don't want it anymore. Already, my wolf acts crazily for you," Trustin said. He did not refrain from admitting what he felt.

Elysia gulped to hear those words. She was surprised to learn his thoughts about her.

"Good night," Trustin said, and dashed out of the room. He wanted to touch her, but he could not do that when they did not even feel anything for each other. He wanted to feel her lips on his, but those were his lustful thoughts for her.

Elysia closed the door as it was half-opened and then she came to bed. She switched off the lights from the switch beside the bed and kept the bedside lamp on. She lay down and covered herself with the duvet.

After staring at the ceiling for a while, she tossed and turned around the bed.

Trustin could not go to sleep. The image of Elysia was lingering in front of his eyes, and it was making him raged. He sat up on the couch and put away the duvet.

"I think I need to take a stroll," Trustin murmured, and stood up. He went out of the living room to the garden and then to the poolside. He stood near the pool and looked at his reflection.

"Will I be able to stop getting close to her for more time?" He asked himself while looking at his reflection in the water, "How much longer can I refrain myself?"

He ruffled his hair and looked up at the night sky. He exhaled a deep breath. "I am a human more than a werewolf. I have to behave. I have to stop my pheromones from acting randomly," Trustin muttered.

"Trustin."

He heard Elysia's voice and promptly turned to look at her.

"Why did you not sleep? It's late," Trustin asked with concern.

Elysia had her hands behind her back. "I was unable to," she asserted. "I have a lot of things on my mind, and I want to know many things from you," she said, as she approached him.

She sat down by the pool and put her legs into the water.

"Why don't you sit?" Elysia asked him.

Trustin moved his loose trousers up his legs before sitting down beside her and putting his feet into the water.

"Am I your mate?" Elysia's first question was unexpected for Trustin. "The werewolves have mates," she added with inquisitiveness.

"Yes, you are," Trustin said.

"But you chose my sister first," Elysia affirmed.

"There was a lot of confusion, Elysia. I thought she was my mate, but I was wrong," Trustin stated, and furrowed his brows together.
