Chapter 7 - An Argument

Tristan and Elysia reached the living room where Hunter Family members were waiting for them. Hannah asked the housemaid to take Elysia to the bedroom.

"Yes, Madam," The maid bowed her head to them and took Elysia with her.

They waited for Elysia to leave when William took his seat first on the couch. Tristancaused a lot of trouble at his own wedding. It gave Hannah and William a headache. The other family members took their respective seats after him.

With a grim expression on William's face, he said to his son, "I need an explanation for today's incident. Why did you suddenly decide to marry Elysia? Do you think your marriage was a joke?" He shouted at Trustin.

Hannah stayed silent because she knew her husband's nature. When he was angry, then he would not listen to anyone.

Joseph, Trsutin's cousin, looked at him and told him to explain the situation. "The Hunter family has a name. We did not expect that the bride would be suddenly changed on the marriage day. Did you really fall for Elysia or it was just to cover up the fact that you got cheated on?" Joseph scoffed.

"Who do you think you are to demand an explanation from me, hah?!" Tristan asked as he gritted his teeth. He could not understand why Joseph was intervening in his matter.

"My dear brother, we are a family. If we won't ask you, then how are we going to handle the matter for you? You know that the matter is already out to the media. By the morning, it will be a piece of bigger news across the country," Joseph said. He looked at William. "Tristan loves to irritate his father and mother. Earlier, Eithan did that, and now Trustin." He left no ground to humiliate Trustin.

"What did you say?" Trustin's jaw clenched and in a flash of light, he appeared before Joseph. He grabbed him up by his collar and almost threw a punch at him when William's loud shout stopped him.

"Enough, Trustin!" William said in a fury. "If you are not willing to tell us then we are not willing to accept the wedding!" He remarked in a stern voice.

"What do you want me to tell you? Did I not explain it already at the wedding?" He let go of Joseph's collar and turned to look at his father. " Elysia and I both found out about this fifteen days ago and while finding the truth we both grew feelings for each other. More importantly, I got the mate's scent from her," Tristan said as he had calmed down a bit.

"You were the one who wanted badly for me to get married. Why do you even care if it's Elysia instead of Brigetta? Does this even matter?" He questioned his father.

In the Hunter family, he had only his mother whom he loved the most, and then his younger brother, Ethan, who had run away from the home long ago.

"How dare you talk like this? You are the future Alpha king of the Blood-moon pack. If you are going to act irresponsibly, how are the pack members going to trust you? You did not even know the woman you decided to marry was not your mate! You earlier told us that Brigetta was your mate! Did you lie to us?" His father was now dubious of his son. Did he marry today to get the position of alpha because he had threatened him?

William was utterly disappointed in both of his sons. One ran away after telling him that he was into guys, and the other one kept defying his orders and was always on his opposite side.

"The people of the pack trust me," Tristan replied. "I agree that Brigetta cheated me. Not only her but her mother too. Dad knows that I never got a mate scent from any of the female werewolves. When I searched among humans, it was Elysia, not Brigetta. They lied to me and told me that only one daughter exists. I know it is tough for me to explain, but this was what I observed fifteen days ago. I did not tell you all because you all wanted my marriage to happen." Tristan made up the slight story so that his father would not ask for any more explanation from him.

"Tristan, tell me you are not lying to us," Joseph said and looked at him with amusement. "You can never fall for a woman. Also, I clearly remember fifteen days ago, you were not even with Brigetta. You were here, leading an important meeting, then how come you find out that Brigetta got impregnated with someone's else child."

He tilted to look at William and said, "I think Tristanmarried to Elysia by force. He must have threatened her because he did not want to lose this alpha position."

"Do not trigger me, Joseph, when you can't bear the consequences of it," threatened Joseph, who snickered. "Why would I lie about the mate's scent? I got it from Elysia. Brigetta did not cheat me because I never gave her time, instead, she wanted my money. I made a thorough investigation on it." Tristan did his best to explain himself.

Tristan and Joseph were two swords that would never fit in the same scabbard. They never liked to see each other, let alone talk in peace.

"Honey, trust our son's words. He has married Elysia and now she is his wife. I do not think that we should say anything to him anymore," Hannah finally intervened and pacified the anger of her husband. "You could have told us on the phone that all such things have happened," she asserted.

"I did not want to make you worry." Tristan looked at the teary eyes of his mother.

"Fine. Let the matter rest here then. You should head to your bedroom. Your bride must be waiting for you," William stated.

Joseph also fell silent. He was not ready to believe that Tristan fell for a woman. He decided to find the truth behind Elysia's and Trustin's sudden marriage.

"I will send dinner for you two in the room," Hannah told her son. Tristan nodded and walked away from there.

He somehow managed to convince his father that he was serious about this marriage. The only thing he hated was the interference of Joseph in his life. He was the reason that he had to find a bride in a rush. If he had not married today, Joseph would have been declared the Alpha of their pack, which he never wanted.
