-Bang.
Lucas suddenly felt a throbbing pain in his whole body as he rolled over a meter or two from his original spot.
The lock of the case in his hand broke open and a pure white helmet fell to the ground.
Pain enveloped his whole body as he screamed in pain.
Without realizing it, he had already stopped screaming – a lot of blood was lost.
'Wha-'
'What just…'
He realized what had happened before he could even ask as he saw a truck towards his right.
'T-truck-kun?'
Unlike a fantasy, dying in the real-world meant ultimate doom. In his final moments, he realized that he was indeed going to die for real.
As he blinked again, he found his helmet rolling slowly towards him. It blocked his vision of the truck as it stopped in between them.
Now, he had a different thought…
'I wish at least I could play the game once.' He stretched his hand trying to touch the pure white helmet.
And just as he had touched it, he lost consciousness.
The truck driver was too terrified to do anything. All he could do was grab his own head and have a worried expression on his face – he didn't even try to call for help.
However, other people in the surroundings rushed – some trying to call for help.
But before they could do something, a mysterious phenomenon occurred.
What seemed like a normal accident, turned into a mysterious occurrence.
-Boom
A lightning bolt struck the ground from the sky, almost blowing away everyone in the vicinity.
No other fatality occurred, however, Lucas's body including the set – vanished.

In an unknown place, a lightning bolt descended from the sky.
"Ahhhhhh!", Lucas screamed at the top of his lungs as his consciousness returned.
But surprisingly the pain in his body had long disappeared instead a warm feeling developed in his body.
Even though his clothes were covered in blood his injuries seemed to just disappear.
"Where am I…?" He muttered completely confused.
As he looked at the surrounding he was surprised. Dead bodies of fantastical creatures such as Orcs and Goblins lay on the ground. Green and purple coloured blood flowed on the ground.
He felt completely disgusted and threw up.
"Where the hell am I?" Lucas asked as he tried to calm himself. He once again looked at his surrounding as his eyes squinted.
"These creatures…"
He covered his mouth and went towards the dead body of an orc.
"What the hell? It is a fucking orc!", Lucas exclaimed.
Then he went towards another body continuing his investigation.
"That's a goblin!" A creature that every main protagonist fights at the start of their journey.
He never imagined that he would see them in real life.
"What if this all is just a dream?" He said simultaneously pinching himself and confirming that this was not a dream.
"Ouch."
"Wait a minute. That means I have become a protagonist." An absurd thought entered his mind.
Lucas was someone who grew up watching multiple fantasy animes and was addicted to such an extent that he was willing to sleep on the street just to buy an MMORPG set.
"Where is my golden finger? All my cheats. Do I have to go through some trials to get them? Where is the all-mighty system."
"Where the heck is my personal goblin whose fate is sealed to get slaughtered by me!?", he squinted his eyes, again and again, trying to find at least one live goblin among all the goblin corpses.
He was walking past all of them and slowly lifting them while asking – "Hello, are you alive?"
"Where are you my personal goblin?", he asked while slapping one or two corpses.
He was stupidly looking left and right and at that time his eyes paused on a certain item – the helmet.
The white helmet was stained with some drops of blood.
"That… How is it over here? Is that the cheat…?"
He stretched his arm and touched the helmet with his fingers but at that time he felt a chill run through his whole body.
A giant war axe was speeding towards his way but before the axe could split his body into two halves the helmet sparked giving a shock to Lucas.
He felt as if something out of him was getting sucked and at that time the axe split his body.
Blood gushed out of his mouth as his body split into two halves.
'Where are my cheats…?' Lucas thought as his consciousness blacked out.
Unfortunately, this was reality, not some fantasy. Death here too meant ultimate doom!
Imagine dying after getting transported to a different world – that's what exactly happened with Lucas.
His blood dyed on the white helmet in front of him which caused it to spark and tremble even violently for two seconds before calming.
The ferocious orc who killed Lucas then growled due to which an army of goblins marched over there.
All of their hands were chained except for the goblin who was leading them all.
"Rei." The orc's maniac voice echoed and in response to his call the goblin with no chains dashed towards him.
"Yes, master. Can this thrash help the lord in any way?" He asked as he rubbed both his palms together.
"I want you to lead others to collect the loot."
An excited look appeared on Rei's face as he looked at the orc with a lot of expectation.
"Oh, I almost forgot to give you your reward." The orc was first confused about why Rei was looking at him in such a manner but then he remembered.
"Just like the last time, I will give you something good this time too."
'Last time…? Last time you gave me a scrap of metal! According to you it was supposed to be a sword but didn't even look like it!' Rei still had his smile plastered on his face as he thought.
The orc quickly picked up the helmet which was lying beside the dead human and tossed it towards Rei.
"Last time I gave you a magnificent sword which was a great offensive weapon but defence… Defence is also equally important so I am giving you this strong head protection."
Rei's eyes twitched as he looked at the orc.
'You literally picked it up from the ground in front of me you bastard!'
'It won't even cover my head properly…'
"Thank you master for the generosity you are showing to this slave.", contrary to his thoughts, he replied with a smile.
