Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 : STARTING POINT

_03/03/3030 the day Jared became a victim of COMASIS|

Jared woke up in a white-enclosed room filled with nothing but a door in front of him. He repeatedly shouted for help but his voice won't come out either can he feel pain, it was as if his senses have become numb.

Sitting by the corner he started crying thinking about his mom and how pitiful he is in his situation. A faint light flickered right before his eyes then a panel out of nowhere appeared which startled Jared.

[ WELCOME TO ENIGMA ]

Astonished by the sight, he closed his eyes, shrieked, and smacked it. Nothing happened, instead, his hands just passed through the panel.

"A-am I hallucinating?" He moved back a bit in distress, he opened his eyes again and the panel was still there, in front of him.

"There's no way a panel would appear from thin air right?" He mumbled to himself as he frustratingly laughs his stress out.

One might call Jared crazy if they were to see him in that state. Wrinkled eyebrows, and disturbing eyes with flowing tears while laughing. You can see the confusion on his face as he reached his hands on the panel.

"Hahaha... This must be a dream, right, I will wake up soon enough." He comforted himself with a few words confused about his current situation.

[ Scanning Biometrics... ]

"Scanning bio-what? Wait, isn't this quite generic? This is how those virtual reality games operate. Then, maybe..." Distracted from his deep thinking, he wasn't able to notice faint lights running through his body. He then wiped his tears recovering from his sudden mental breakdown.

Virtual Reality games are common in this era but playing with them for the first time made Jared overcome his fear with excitement.

He remembered their bond with his father where they would often play games and at this moment he felt his dad's guidance when playing through tutorials.

[ Scanning complete. Jared Reyes ID No. 1091 ]

"Log out!" He repeatedly shouted in an attempt to escape this predicament. But, it was all in vain.

[ Please exit through the door after announcing the start of the game. We wish you luck and survival with all means necessary. ]

There was no response when he attempted to log out and instead the panel only continued to explain the mechanics of the game. Jared now back in his distressed state tried to search through the panel for a setting or a log-out button. But as one would expect there is none.
