"I need you, Lissa. If you can help me find the girl whose description I will say to you now, I shall make you my Luna. Is that not what you want?"
Lissa's heart thumped in and out hearing those words from the Alpha. She was overly stunned to the extent that she thought that this alpha might be playing pranks with her. She could not believe that whatever she had been hoping for could just come in all of a sudden, without during too much. She wanted to be sure.
"Don't get me wrong, Alpha Lucifel." She started and his eyes were eagerly fixed on her, hearing whatever she had to say. "I am not forcing you to take me as your Luna. In fact, I have not even dreamt of it and I am finding it hard to process this whole thing. I have a strong feeling that this is not true nor is this what you intend to do. I am disappointed that you find a way to send me off when all I needed was just one more round."
He looked at her, thinking of a way to convince her. Even though he met her today, he knew almost a lot about this woman. He knew the fact that she was a widow and also the fact that she was very good at finding people just by their descriptions.
He did not understand why he kept reminding himself that she was a widow. He understood though because he had been the one who murdered her mate without her awareness but he did not know why this kept bothering him when it had barely affected him.
His hand went up to her long brown hair, he took a strand and curl it around his finger, and his other hand was fixed on her face. He lifted her head slightly up and then said, "I am willing to break all of my principles because of you, Lissa. And I don't joke with issues like this. I need to find a missing girl, and if you help me with that, I will make you rule the whole pack with me, it is a promise, dear." He wasn't entirely done with his words, he pulled her face closer to his, their lips almost touching,
"Then we can do many more than just one round. But listen, as long as you have not to find the girl, you don't have the right to be naked around me anymore." He immediately distanced himself as if she was the ugliest person in the world, he wore his trousers and then brought out cash from his wardrobe, "Take care of your injuries with this." He paused, "Do not forget to wrap your body with that towel, once I'm out, the maids would get you clothes to put on."
His breath as he spoke when he was so near to her sent tingles down her body, she felt like she was in another universe as she saw this crazy drop-dead gorgeous alpha so close to her again. She couldn't just get enough of him. Her heart almost collapsed but she blinked off the shock away.
There was another rule she had learned again from the women who had slept with the alpha. She heard about the fact that the alpha gives them money to take care of injuries. She wondered what injuries she had gone through when all she had gone through was an extreme pleasure with him. Or perhaps, he was giving them money just because he saw them as prostitutes. Well, she did not care about that. All she knew was the fact that she was soon to be Luna.
"But, Alpha Lucifel..." She was curious about who this girl could be. "You...you talked about the description. Is she from our clan or other clans?"
When he heard her question, he immediately stilled. An image not so clear appeared in front of him. It was a girl, a gorgeous pale human with red hair hiding behind a tree, looking so frightened and cute. And then again, another image of the chained vampiress swam through his face. He blinked off the memory and said, "It would be forwarded to you." Not taking a glance at her any longer, he opened the door and walked out of the room.
"Alpha Lucifel, the humans have gathered lots of troops and have started attacking from the border." A not-so-tall but huge man informed him.
He smirked and said, "Humans are so dumb. Well, that is what I have been expecting from them. Gather a hundred men to counter the attack, we are going to take their lands finally. We have more food to feed on, now."
The man looked at him, his eyes filled with doubts as if he had more to say.
"What is it?" He immediately questioned. His aura then at the room had completely vanished. From a seducing alpha to an aggressive one. "I hate waiting..." he warned.
"I...I am afraid your prisoner has been killed by Beta Ethan."
A/N: I hope there is nothing confusing and I also hope you enjoy the pace in which the book is written.
