After shutting out of her reverie, she looked at the guard and said, "I am not exactly your prisoner, am I?"
The guard held on to her arm tightly when he heard those words from her but he did nothing further, he only continued dragging her along with him. They were almost at the dungeon in which the Beta had informed them to put her, but this crazy vampiress kept delaying and pushing herself backwards from moving forward. "You don't need me to burn your bleeding hair off your head and make you bald already, right?" He asked, his voice was hoarse and Hazel noticed something from his words and actions.
He was scared that he could burst out and lose his control and in the end, end up ripping her apart. That was something beneficial to her, she thought.
The guard looked at the prisoner, he was scared that hearing more of what this vampiress had to say might make him really go aggressive, he did not want to risk that so he tried setting a barrier across his ears. But how when she was this close to her and annoying the hell out of him?!
"Keep quiet!"
"Why should I?" Hazel voiced back. She blew the hair that was entering her mouth as she spoke and tried removing the strand of her hair off her face when it still disturbed her. She raised her handcuffed hands to her face but this guard held unto her arm as if planning to break the bones there.
"Because once you continue to behave this way, you might really not see the end of today."
"I will," she argued and it did nothing but make the guard chuckle in disbelief at this vampiress's sudden change. She completely changed from a weak person to a garrulous being and he even hated the change more. "I will see the end of this day because I will." She paused and then continued, "Let me remind you that I am not a prisoner but a hostage. Just like what I have deduced from everyone in this pack, you all want to capture the witch queen and gain control over the witches?"
She shook her head as if that thought alone made her astounded, "that is unbelievable, and do not think I will just tell you the abode of the witches just by kicking me into a dungeon and starving. That will do me nothing."
"As I said, keep your energy for your future hunger!"
"You should keep your energy for your weakness just after the full moon, you bleeding dog. Like I have learnt, your souls become the weakest creature ever after a full moon, it is such a pity that you all are pathetic monsters. Yes, that is who you all are?!" She shouted, her eyes twinkling with pure courage.
"That is a lovely rumour you have heard. Do not be scared when a pup bites your arm off you just after a full moon." This statement created a shocked expression on Hazel's face and she frowned, trying to know if whatever this man was saying was the truth. If it wasn't, it only meant that the technique she had planned to try on this full moon that was approaching was never going to work. "I see that you are shocked. No matter what you plan on doing to escape, you would end up sitting down your ass cheeks in the cold dungeon where you would almost rot else you confess."
"I see where all these are going through. You are trying to scare me huh? What do you do if I tell your bleeding Alpha-" before she could continue her words, he held more tightly onto her arm again before pulling her to him, his hand went to her neck just like what Simone had previously done.
Hazel wasn't expecting this so she blinked, her heart was racing as if she had just run fifty laps around the entire pack houses.
"If you talk badly of our alpha, I am sure that I would not be restricted nor blamed to rip your head off your sweaty neck."
"Ah..." She said slowly and he removed his hand and breathed heavily. She continued, "Let's see what that same Alpha says when he realises that the guards are following the Beta's instructions rather than his. Let's see who he would be blaming by then, Oran." She mentioned his name.
She had learnt that mentioning one's name in a conversation made the person feel more pulled or affected in the conversation. She was doing her best to intimidate this guard instead of trying to act friendly in order not to undergo much punishment.
"Oh and about the aftermath effect on you bleeding dogs, let's see if you would not become so lazy to even pick up a stone. I will ensure that happens before my eyelids, trust me. We, Vampires, have weakness but I must say, though your weakness is hidden, it is the most terrific Achilles heel to ever have, trust me."
"While you wait for the aftermath full moon on us, I am afraid you would not even be able to bat an eyelid to even look let alone, do anything."
Hazel heard the voice from afar. She recalled that it was that same voice that had told the people to light up the firewoods and coals. She was immediately scared of him as he walked closer.
"Beta Ethan, I am so sorry for delaying." The guard bowed and all Hazel could do was stare at this daring man, who looked like he could turn her into ashes just by looking at his almost orange eyes.
"Leave the vampiress to me, Oran."
