Chereads / Battle Harem of the Heavenly Sword / Prologue: The Vow of Vengeance 2

Prologue: The Vow of Vengeance 2

One of the goons near the shivering man asked in anxiety. "What? Why are you shivering like a pussy? Who is he?"

"He is the Demonic butcher! The crazy mercenary that fought against the demonic tide from the south! That bastard fought alone on the front lines, hanged the meat from his kills on hooks, and ate them! He is immortal! NO ONE SAID THE TARGET WAS THE BUTCHER! I'M OUT OF HERE! I AIN'T FIGHTING THAT LUNATIC!"

Before he could move however a gigantic 15-meter blade of a golden greatsword sliced the man in two. The blade then continued to cleave the 50-meter gorilla from the right shoulder to the left hip.

The primate who suddenly was fatally injured cried in anger as it fell. It continued to struggle slamming its arms toward the nearby buildings.

Its blood gushed forth like from a broken dam, chaotic, unruly, and impossible to stop. In under a minute the roars turned into pitiful cries and eventually a wordless silence.

The men on the beast's left shoulder jumped to the nearby buildings. All of them including the over a hundred and forty men scattered around had comical faces as they saw the power of the blow.

When they looked toward the source of the attack. They found the woman sporting crimson robes covered in Aura at the forefront of Hiro. she held a greatsword encased by smoldering red metal.

Maraud felt his breath stuck in his throat as he screamed in his mind. 'FUCK! A DIVINE FORGER! WHY IS A DIVINE FORGER HERE?! Aren't they supposed to be rare like one in a million?'

Before anyone can do anything else. A soothing voice full of elegance echoed in the skies.

"[Twilight's Rain] – Arresting Tide!"

Emerald arrows from heaven suddenly fell in mass toward each of the hundred and fifty assailants. Around half of the men immediately died. The other half of them after being impaled by arrows heard in their minds the effect the projectiles gave as a bonus.

- WARNING: [Rune of the horny] has been engraved! INT permanently reduced by 10%! –

Maraud whose eyes almost fell from his sockets cried in frustration; his gaze followed the source of the arrow rain. It was the woman dressed in green robes to the right of Hiro holding a longbow engulfed in spirit power, her eyes radiating emerald light.

'HIS OTHER WOMAN IS A FUCKING RUNE MEISTER! I need to run! The princess should still forgive me, I just need to make up for this blunder. This should be valuable information!'

The man struggled to stand up for he had arrows piercing his right arm, right knee, left leg, and left foot despite having a shield.

The seventy or so men who didn't die from the assault found themselves in similar situations. They all fought to get up. Before they were able to, however, the scenery changed.

The noise from the surroundings all vanished. Only Hiro's group and their side remained. Unfortunately, the assailants only now noticed the 108 translucent floating women in blue robes who encircled them.

Each of the 108 ghostly figures had a staff in hand and all of them pointed their weapons in one direction. Maraud who had access to more information than his comrades knew that the 108 beings were magician shades.

Shades were summoned incorporeal beings, that perform magic on behalf of the summoner. Maraud then looked around and saw the source of the shades! The last woman dressed in sapphire clothes to the left of Hiroto Musashi! Mana raged around her like a blizzard as the beauty continued to chant.

The magic circles in front of the busty woman layered themselves in a stack that faced outward like a pyramid. The man then felt a cold shiver go down his spine as a brilliant azure light illuminated the entire area.

Maraud looked up only to lose all hope. The man started sobbing while shitting himself as he crumpled to the floor. Not limited to him, anyone who saw the gigantic array formation in the sky would be the same.

Arrays depending on size and rank could boost a magic spell's power by as much as a thousandfold. And the one they saw was large enough to cover an entire city.

The 108 shades then raised their staffs to the heavens in one swift movement. They then murmured in one voice amidst the cries. "TARGETS FOUND! [FRIGID LANCE] LOCK ON!" x 108

At their words, the people sobbing and crying all had magical target symbols appearing on their foreheads and hearts. They all franticly tried to save themselves in whatever way they could think of.

"FIRE!" X108

Like a death sentence, 108 two-meter-long Icicle lances then left the gigantic array and started to skewer the survivors through the head and the heart without mercy.

The weapons didn't stop after passing a target but flowed like water to the next. The lances mirrored angry bees attacking a badger, the hum of their passing was the final sound the assailants heard before dying.

The weapons of ice flew at the speed of sound so in less than a few seconds the heads and body cavities of over seventy people exploded in a torrent of blood and guts.

Maraud similarly couldn't move and only watched as the remainder of his group got massacred in cold blood, his thoughts became strangely clear in his last moments.

'FUCK THIS SHIT! THE MAN HAS A DIVINE FORGER, A RUNE MEISTER, AND A MYSTIC ENCHANTER! What easy mission? That dispatcher is fucking insane! Even just one of those is considered a heaven-sent talent and he has three! I am not even a Dominant how the fuck do they expect me to win against him? Why do some guys have all the luck?'

His thoughts then returned to the love of his life, and memories of how he met and served her filled his mind.

'My lady, my love, my goddess princess Rhyne if only I found favor in your eyes. Please remember that I existed and that I offered my life in service of you. Please find happiness.'

That was Maraud's last thought as spear-like weapons pierced his chest and skull. Just like the others, the man's meat chunks, bone fragments, and blood flew outwards from the force of the blows. The vicinity was quickly turned red by the blood and guts from over a hundred bodies.
