Li Xia ran as fast as she could, rain droplets poured on her, soaking her hair, her clothes, her body... and her heart. It was shattered
into small pieces that made her feel numb, her legs feeling weak, as though they will collapse any moment soon. She could faintly hear someone calling her name, but she refused to stop. She needed to get as far as possible from this place. Tears refused to listen to her, falling down one after another blurring her vision. And then, a flash of headlights cut through the rain, a car hurtling towards Li Xia, she covered her eyes instinctively to brace herself from impact and fell onto the ground. The car didn't hit her, it screeched and halted a mere inch from Li Xia's trembling body.
"Li Xia!" a familiar voice called out as the man who was driving the car exited the driving seat. With an umbrella in his hand, he sat on his knees covering Li Xia's head with his umbrella to prevent her from getting soaked with the rain.
