After a series of back-and-forth arguments with Nori, Karina finally settled on sending a text to Veron. The text was simple, straight to the point, and void of any emotion.
Nori frowned at the content of the text, but still decided to hit send since that was exactly how Karina wanted it. After sending it, she held on to the phone, waiting impatiently for a reply.
"Why isn't he replying?" Nori murmured after some time, frowning at the phone for the umpteenth time.
"Go to sleep, Nori." Karina's sleepy voice reached Nori's ears, but the latter paid her no attention.
Sleep was the last thing on Nori's mind. It was strange, but she didn't know why she was so interested in the recent development between Karina and Veron.
So many things didn't make sense to her. Who in his right senses invites a random girl he doesn't interact with to a party? Even though she told Karina that such behavior was normal for rich people, she didn't fully believe it herself.
