Veron turned his head to look at her with narrowed eyes which made her purse her lips.
There was something about his eyes, and the way he looks at her holds her captive and draws her in every time. It was something she didn't understand and couldn't control.
"What did you say?" He asked her, amazed at the way she held his gaze. She was acting strange. Her heart was pounding so loud out of fear, yet her eyes stayed glued to his.
When she didn't say anything after a while, his eyes narrowed and he moved his face closer to her. Instinctively, she leaned away from him, knitting her brows tightly together.
"Repeat what you just said." His voice went down a few octaves.
"I said you insist a lot. You always want to have your way and it is not good. Other people's opinions matter too." Karina repeated her words, then swallowed down the tension that built up in her throat.
"Do they?" Veron's voice, which had returned to normal, echoed.
