Chapter 11 - Chapter Elven

Crunch, crunch!

There foot steps heavy in the snow, as the adventurers chased after Zen. "Hurry! He is already far a head of us!" Leo's voice bellowed.

Even with the coat of heat protection, their faces were all still flushed. The cold air nipped their noses. They all came to a halt near to the exit of the cavern.

Leo's brow furrowed as he searched for something or someone. 'Where has that rat run off to?" He stood close to a large blue glacier.

Zen sensed their presence, waiting for his chance to leave the cavern. "Leo, why the hurry? Isn't Zen still far behind us? " Jace asked curiously.

Leo frowend even deeper, as his party member had not seen Zen leave them to deal with the unruly monster. Leo ignored Jace and kept looking for Zen.

ROAR!

The gronds shook violently, the glaciers rattled as the monster approached the adventures group. Zen knew the monster would show as he made himself small to avoid the beast.

Warm air was blown out from the gorila like monster, its height reaching over 10 feet. It stood on it's hind legs and bashed its chest hard, showing them it would not let them pass until it's defeat.

Some gulped loudly, seeing that the monster had blocked their path." L-Leo what shall we do? " One of the female adventures asked quietly, trying hard not to provek the gorrila.

Leo stared intently at the beast, his will not wavering one bit at the monsters presence. He was more concerned finding Zen as he ignored the party member.

Zen watched intently waiting for his moment to escape and get far ahead of the others.

"We kill it and move on." Leo replied not taking his eyes of the beast.

All of them shivered, knowing that a fight would soon take place before them. Leo took his axe, twirling it in his hand while he moved closer to the monster.

ROAR! The gorilla bashed its white chest, offended he had to face only one opponent. Leo neared as he circled the beast, he clearly wasn't in the mood to order others around when he could take care of the beast himself.

With quick movements he shot out with great speed, swinging his axe straight for the gorillas chest. However his attack was blocked with one swing of the gorillas paw, Leo was flung back with great speed landing in a large sized glacier.

CRACK!

Spider web like cracks appeared behind Leo's body, blood formed on the corner of his lip. His body fell limp crashing into the thick snow.

"Leo!" Laurie yelled, as she rushed to aid him.

It happened so fast, they had not seen it happen. Only when the heard a loud crack had they realised what had transpired moments before.

Huff!

The gorrila was proud, as it swatted a pesky fly before him. Zen also saw, but he knew it would occur as Leo was trying to follow him.

A faint light green aura surrounded Leo, healing him. However he had lost consciousness due to the large impact. Fear arose in the hearts, seeing Leo their strongest member lie there, unmoving.

Swish, swish, swish.

All eyes turned to the monster, seeing it's proud aura at the defeat of one pesky human in it's domain.

"What are we going to do now? " One voice arose from the rest. Now panic crept into their hearts seeing this unmoving monster before them.

Zen let out a heavy sigh. 'Why are they even here, if one or monsters are a problem for them.' Seeing this hopeless situation before him, he contenplated if he should help or not.

Zen shook his head, deep down he was too kind, he would have to break the habit of pitting others. He stood, taking out a concealed dagger laced with poison.

He came prepared, he had faced hard trials in real life before he faced the dungeon. Calming himself, he aimed for a spot on the gorrila's back. Tossing the blade silently through the air, the blade struck between the shoulder blades of the monster.

Laa"ROAR!"

The gorilla became inraged, something struck it's back. Stretching it's arm to reach the object, that caused it intense pain. It raged continually stirring up the snow beneath it's paws. Snow particals fluoride through the air, the adventures moved back out of fear of being harmed.

Yet they were still stunned as to what caused the beast to rage, amongst the flurry of snow. Zen made quick steps to the exit, looking back at the monster before it collapsed completely sending even more snow into the air.

Everyone's mouth stood agape, after the snow had cleared. A dead monster laid before them, Who had killed this monster with just a dagger?

It was a mystery to them all, only one of them had a solemn expression one his face. Who indeed had slain the monster that knocked him out with one swing of a paw?

"Leo are you feeling any better? " Laurie had a concerned gaze on her face.

Leo ignored her, staring at the monster corpse. The loot of this monster was tremendous, yet they left it to them.

Leo could not come up with a solution as to who did this, for Zen was surly miles behind him, and the person who had passed earlier could have been someone else or even sn illusion.

His anger arose yet again for Zen, Leo grit his teeth. Soon he would get rid of the rat that caused him a lot of suffering.

Deep within his heart, something began to take over. Although tiny, it took root an would soon cause him more trouble in the future.

Zen however he was busy slaughtering small monsters, getting only little loot drops.

"Ahooo..."

Sounds of wolf holws could be heard in this dark dense forest. A cold smile appeard on his face, he could not wait to slaughter those wolves as well.

Even though he helped the others back there, next time he wouldn't hesitate to leave them but for now he concentrated on killing these minuscule monsters before him.

It's only been six day inside the dungeon, and they've already faced such great hardship, not knowing that six months have passed on the outside.

How long would it take them to complete this dugeon?
