Chereads / Twenty Five Year Quest / Chapter 15 - Chapter Fourteen.

Chapter 15 - Chapter Fourteen.

Dark red blood was dripping off of the sharp blade, monster corpses littered the forest floor.

"That should keep them at bay for about a day or two, until they respawn." A dark voice echoed from the shadows.

"It really should, or at least thoughts adventures trigger another mass spawning." A gruff spoke, standing before the shadows.

"They are rookies in this field, I've seen better adventures avoid this place since it's near the nest of the monsters." The dark voice added.

They both shook their heads before making their way to a stairwell leading upwards to another cavern. "Have you got everything prepared, the next dungeon is like a literal sand trap. I don't even know what types of monsters roam up there." The dark voice spoke again from the shadows.

The hooded figure nodded, before looking back into the dense forest. Only to see several glowing eyes on him, he nodded in their direction before ascending the stairs.

"You think they show up soon?" The dark voice asked.

"Leo hates being one-upped, especially by an unknown figure who keeps stealing their chances at gaining some loot, even if it's just money." The man smirked.

The man walked up the narrow steps, his boots echoing off the wall of the small passageway.

As he climbed there was a comfortable silence between the pair, and warm air began to circulate through the passageway. Light crunching was now heard under the man's boots.

The passageway opened up to a dessert scene, and scorching hot dry air filled the whole dungeon. "You should find some shelter, it's best to travel at dusk." The dark voice suggested. The man only nodded, then began to search for a suitable shelter to hide from the heat.

Sweat dripped down the man's back as he searched. "Just to inform you, the others will soon be out of the passageway." The dark voice warned.

Zen rolled his eyes, how were they always on his heel? "Thanks, Tsuyo." Zen kept searching looking for a deep cave or rock formation, he was now far from the entrance of the new unexplored dungeon. "Did other adventures make their way this far Tsuyo?"

"Come to think of it, I don't believe so. Maybe my father and his partner. I can't tell, our connection was cut off as soon as he left shadow forest." Zen felt how Tsuyo felt.

"I'm so sorry bud." He responded with sympathy. Zen had found large rock formations south of the entrance to the dungeon. "So are they here yet?"

Tsuyo came out of Zen's shadow. "Yes they have, but they are moving east, going deeper into the desert."

They were quiet for a few minutes, "Let's get some sleep, we have a lot of traveling to do later," Tsuyo voiced, and Zen nodded at the idea of some sleep.
