Chereads / A New Beginning Of The Heavenly Demon / Chapter 10 - Trouble Arises

Chapter 10 - Trouble Arises

"A newborn spatial vortex has been detected at street 11, E-city. Here, you can see some footage captured by us. The monsters look like a minotaur, ranging from grade D to B."

"The civilians are requested to evacuate and hide for the time being. The Light Heaven Guild and The Violent Tiger Guild are already taking action."

"Currently, we have 43 casualties with…."

Watching the female reporter speak with various scenes of fighting on the television, wholly fascinated the Heavenly Demon.

"Interesting. In the immortal world, we had to create formations and talismans to record the scene while broadcasting them would have been way more troublesome. Especially to everyone in different parts of the world at the same time. It was simply impossible." Cayden thought, sitting on a sofa with a controller.

"Nonetheless, this world managed to achieve it using a mysterious technology. Besides, this so-called mobile phone is even better." He picked it up from the side and dialed a number stored in it.

A few seconds later, the call was connected and Bryan's voice sounded from the other side. "My Lord!"

"Humm, how is the gang going?" He asked since it had been a week from the time of that incident.

"As expected of you, after hearing the news of the Gang Leader's death, either one-third of our members resigned or fled away due to panic and fear. While others were confused, not knowing what to do, we suddenly received tons of money from various sources, making us rich." Bryan became excited as he continued.

"Mike notified me that it was your contribution. Once this news spread to everyone, they made up their minds to stay here and follow you. Although we had to provide them with more benefits, it was worth it." He explained.

"I see." Cayden nodded casually as if everything was under his control.

"Besides, the Poisonous Viper Gang has met with misfortunes. The other gangs and even the guilds have been questioning them. After all, the fall of a rank B warrior is quite a headline. Peculiarly, when the Gang Leader had been working for the guilds." Bryan couldn't contain his happiness.

"Despite them declining this nonsense, nobody believed it because we had the proof. This also made the other gangs fear and suspicious of them since how could a B-rank necromancer be taken down this silently? Thus, their lie led to several gangs besieging them, hoping to find out the truth." He paused there, catching his breath.

"Finally, the police force had no choice but to intervene and investigate. I think they might make an inspection here. Some members of the guilds as well. However, they might be actually wanting to see you, the new gang leader." He added with a bit of worry.

"It makes sense." Cayden didn't deny it.

"Lord, will your identity cause a problem?" Bryan couldn't help but ask.

"Haha, once I show my strength, would they dare to question anything?" Cayden scoffed in disdain.

Bryan broke out in a cold sweat thinking of how domineering the Lord was.

"I understand." He replied helplessly.

"Anyways, show me around the city today. I am bored." Without waiting for his answer, Cayden cut off the phone.

"It works like a communication talisman. So magical." Shaking his head, he stood up and stretched his muscles.

Next, dark green energy emerged around his body, cleaning him up and concealing his extraordinary charm.

Whoosh!

His hair turned completely black, his aura was restrained to the extreme, and his pitch-black eyes stopped radiating the mysterious glow, making it possible to stare at them. Nevertheless, his otherworldly temperament, movement, and spirit couldn't be hidden.

He was still eye-catching as ever.

"I missed this feeling. The Early stage of Qi refining." He snapped his fingers and a chaotic spiritual energy congealed on top of his index finger.

It was so strong that the air was swirling around as if the space was about to collapse any second. One could feel dread and a feeling of terror contained within it.

During this week, he didn't stay idle by just enjoying the television. He grinded his saint crystal against the black mass of energy he captured before. Then forcibly, he extracted specks of spiritual energy from his saint crystal, speeding up his cultivation.

Yet, he couldn't break through more than that. But he wasn't in a hurry. He knew how difficult it was to break down the saint crystal. He would need at least a thousand of those black masses to crush it thoroughly.

Even though he could simply gather spiritual energy from the heavens and earth and improve rapidly, it wouldn't be worth it. How can it be compared with the energy of a saint who has tempered it for thousands of years, integrating thousands of laws?

No matter what type of special Qi was refined using the rarest of cultivation techniques, like flame, death, thunder, etc. they would still not reach his level. After all, how can a mortal withstand absorbing such chaotic energy?

"Now I need to think of ways to gather resources and start producing pills. But I don't think all the materials required for them could be found here." He took back his energy and pondered.

"Perhaps, I can utilize the manpower here to assist me." Having these thoughts, he left the house, appreciating the serenity of the surroundings.

"Lord"

The gangsters would bow respectfully to him once they caught sight of him. Unlike previously, they weren't sweating and were wondering about the changes in him. Anyways, they didn't dare to ask since they were all reminded by Mike to not bother him at all costs.

Walking past the pavilion, he saw Bryan standing solemnly, wearing a blue suit instead of his usual clothes. It seemed like he was trying hard to impress him.

"My Lord! I have made the arrangements. Please get in the car." He acted calmly, albeit a bit surprised inside. He was getting used to the Lord.

Next, they roamed around, sightseeing the best places the city had to offer. This included monuments of the S-class heroes, churches, commerce centers, and many more.

Cayden mainly put his focus on the church, eager to meet the priest. He wanted to witness the process of awakening.

"Lord! It's useless to go there at the moment. The ceremony takes place once every year. I believe there is still a month left." Bryan reminded him.

"I see. Then what about the commerce center?" Cayden questioned.

"It's the building where people from everywhere can trade weapons, armor, potions, skill books, and materials to prepare them. It has branches everywhere with the main headquarters being in A-city. We can also purchase entry tickets to the dungeons controlled by the guilds." Bryan explained.

"Maybe I can find them here." Cayden's eyes lit up.

Noticing he was interested, Bryan hurriedly said, "We have around 500 million dollars in our hands. So, we might be able to buy even a couple of A-grade treasures."

"We will go there later on. First, find a place to eat. I haven't tasted the wine here." Cayden thought for a while before making a decision.

"Then let us head to the Sky Restaurant. It's the most popular one in the vicinity." Changing the direction of the car, they headed there swiftly.

At the same time, five guests were making their way into the Skull Gung. They were inside a luxury sedan discussing important matters.

A sickly-looking man wearing green casual clothes spoke in a begging manner.

"Officer, you have to believe me. I definitely didn't kill him. Someone is framing us."

"Humph! Skylar, then why did you enter the forest and murder all those members of the Skull Gang brutally? Do you take us for a fool? Those recently buried corpses are the proof." A middle-aged man having muscles as large as a tree trunk scoffed.

"Shut up! Martin. You brainless bastard from the Ape Gang. I told you those bodies were already dead when we raided there." Skylar was furious.

Martin wanted to retort immediately when the female officer with tight police clothes sitting opposite him interrupted them.

"We will decide after interrogating the person who escaped from the incident." Her soft voice calmed everyone down.

"Indeed. Furthermore, I heard rumors of them appointing a new Gang Leader from unknown origins. Only fear was written over everyone's faces when they mentioned him." A bearded man sharpened his katana while he spoke.

"Igor, it seems like your Bright Moon Guild has looked into everything." The officer responded.

"I have to as we employ them in our missions. I don't want those people from the cult infiltrating and creating a mess like the incident in Z-city." Anger could be seen on his face.

"We have reached." The driver chipped in, soothing the tense situation.

"Stop!" The guards at the entrance pointed their guns at them threateningly.

"Open the gates! We are from the Military and are here to have a talk with your gang leader." The driver showed a golden badge arrogantly.

"But he already left a few hours ago." The guards lowered their guns and answered with a bit of fear.

"Ma'am! What shall we do?" The driver was puzzled.

"Then tell them to bring out that boy," She ordered. Nonetheless, they got the same reply.

"It looks fishy." Igor got out, opening the door aggressively.

"Call them straight away or else don't blame me for not being polite." He threatened loudly, releasing a faint pressure, showcasing his rank.

"My God! Why is the Sword Master here in person?" The guards cried out in disbelief.
