Not aware of the impending danger, the dozens of immortals were still battling against the Heavenly Demon's spark of divinity. Their own divinity produced golden flickering lights where vague undistinguishable figures could be noticed inside.
The ones in the Buddhist immortals were chanting scriptures, producing a golden statue with a hundred arms that crushed all the images one by one with its fists.
Whereas the ones in the orc immortals were praying to a majestic apparition that was as tall as the Heavenly Demon. It was smashing all the chaotic scenes by using its axe.
The elf immortals also had a similar one, but it was of huge female shooting arrows, deleting everything in sight. Such similar actions were taken all over the place.
Although it seemed like multiple battles were happening, taking a lot of time, it was not the case since these scenes were changing rapidly like flashing memories. In a fraction of a second, thousands of Heavenly Demons were getting crushed.
These were the clash of beliefs where Cayden was on the losing side. This had to be expected as he had yet to condense his divinity. Especially, if the immortals had their true bodies, his spark wouldn't even last a second. The only thing supporting him was its quantity instead of quality.
And this indeed managed to buy him enough time for his sword to reach them in a couple of seconds.
"Stop!" Seeing what was happening, the other immortals who were focusing on the formation yelled with all their strengths.
Nevertheless, it was too late. His sword first passed through his divinity, got coated with its power, and swiftly cut through the other divinities like butter.
"No!"
The dozens of immortals barely saw terrifying swords suddenly appearing in the hands of these Heavenly Demons. Catching them off-guard, they were slashed through time and space, severing their statues, phantoms, and everything.
Hiss!Hiss!
Their divinities lost their sources, resulting in them getting sucked by Cayden's spark of divinity. The Buddhists, orcs, elves, and other all types of mysterious figures got corrupted by fear and his belief, turning them into fuel for his power.
Whoosh!
His spark of divinity which had been flickering badly as if about to disappear because of the earlier battle, showed signs of recovery. In a couple of minutes, it became a bit bigger and stronger. Even hoping to break away from him.
"Come back!"
How could he let that happen? He opened his mouth, turning it into a whirlpool, forcibly swallowing the flame. Next, he fearsomely gazed at the immortals who were restraining him.
"It's your turn."
He glanced at his so-called father-in-law among them and controlled his sword in that direction.
Seeing this, the old man's expression became ugly. He hastily let go of the formation and flew far away.
Despite being Immortal, he was terrorized by that weapon. Who knew what it was made of? The same went for others.
"Annoying." He changed the direction of the sword, but they all got away.
However, this was not futile as he got the chance to break free from the chains since they became weaker due to their escape.
Clang!Clang!
The sword chopped off a few chains and taking this opportunity, he grabbed others by his hands and tore them apart, showing his tyrannical strength.
He then held the sword and caressed its blade with a cold smile.
"I will name you the Immortal Slaying Sword."
This was his Natal Core Artifact, meaning weapons that grow along with their owner. One had to nourish it with his own blood and essence twenty-four hours a day, making it impossible to be cultivated by anybody.
Barely a few individuals having a strong body and essence like him could sustain it. Furthermore, the ones in his hands had been tempered by the blood of divine beasts, thousands of laws, and even the spark of divinity.
He had created it after reaching the peak of the mortal world, the Saint Realm, using a whole year. Combining the saint crystals of all the saints, he had slaughtered along with the various rare treasures of heavens and earth; he had forged an ultimate blade.
With the hilt made from the dragon's bones and flesh, shaping like a twin dragon swirling around, it was very comfortable to hold on. As for its appearance, it was a longsword, excluding black metallic luster with a sharp and smooth surface, showcasing the pinnacle of weapon refining.
Nonetheless, he had never wielded it despite all that effort. The reason was of course having no strong opponents to test it on.
Ziz!Ziz!
The sword made some noises, acknowledging its name excitedly. It seemed like it had been waiting for too long to be unleashed.
Noticing this, the immortals exclaimed.
"It has already gained some sentience."
"It won't take long to develop a spirit and become an immortal artifact."
Now they finally understood why it slayed their fellow immortals this easily.
"Haha, are you all scared? Now beg for mercy, and I might let you live." Knowing that they were out of their depths; he didn't hesitate to mock them.
"Humph! Do you think you can kill us all? If we want, we can leave anytime." They scoffed in disdain.
"Then scram!" His thunderous voice reverberated in the air, spreading to all the continents.
"Heavens! Even immortals are not his match."
"How can this be?"
"It looks like they are just so so.."
"No, they are not weak, but the Heavenly Demon is too strong."
"Doesn't this mean that we are doomed once he finds out we were the ones to contact them?"
"Are we all going to die?"
"Ancestors, save us."
Similar voices were heard from everywhere, begging them to stop this demon. And how could these voices escape from their powerful senses?
Thus, they had no choice but to take down this bastard at all costs in order to save their faces. Besides, his arrogant words made them throw away every single bit of hesitation inside their hearts.
"Do you really think we can't kill you right here, right now?" One of them asked furiously.
"Haha, stop acting tough. You could have already done that if that was the case." He didn't believe it a bit.
"Don't regret it later." The so-called father-in-law took in a deep breath and telepathically asked, "Who wants to go first?"
"Damn! Is that even a thing to ask?"
"We will all do it simultaneously, ensuring nobody takes this chance to leave."
Coming to a common conclusion, they all rushed towards Cayden from all directions while bloating in the way. He could feel dangerous auras accumulating inside them.
"Holy Fuck! Don't tell me you guys are planning to perish here with me."
He had encountered many such situations in his lifetime. Yet, he managed to survive every time without suffering any serious injuries. But this was not the case currently.
How can the explosion of so many immortals be compared to mortals? It was definitely going to be earth-shattering. The other thing was that they wouldn't even die. At most, they would only lose a few hundred years of cultivation since they were all incarnations. As for him? There was no guarantee.
"Shameless bastards!"
"I accept defeat, why don't you let me go."
"I promise I won't harm your descendants."
He flew with his tail between his legs, hoping to break their encirclement. Yet, it was meaningless. They didn't even bother to dodge his sword. They happily accepted the damage and in exchange, they held his body, making way for others.
"Fuck!"
"Are you all even immortals?" He could only scold them helplessly.
"This is what you deserve. We are just following Heaven's Will. Besides, with your nature and strength, you will surely cause chaos in the Divine Realm sooner or later. So, we will cut off your road here."
"Amitabha!" A Buddhist immortal after saying this exploded on the spot.
BOOM!
"Hope you never meet my daughter even in the underworld. I still can't trust you."
BOOM!
Following that, explosion after explosion took place, destroying the whole southern continent into rubles, and disappearing into the endless ocean. The space was torn apart in the sky, revealing various voids, leading to who knows where.
However, one thing was sure nobody would be able to last for even a second after arriving here. The laws of the heavens and earth were twisted. The airflow was disordered with darkness everywhere. The aura of heavens and earth was missing.
A cultivator would suffer from Qi deviation and become a waste on the spot. Traces of divinity were leaking towards the nearby lands, causing mutation, inborn diseases, deaths, and epidemics.
As a result, the top-notch experts of the Saint Realm were forced to make formations to isolate this portion of the world, renaming this area The Heavenly Demon Forbidden Land.
Later, they all received confirmation news from the Upper Realm that the Heavenly Demon had fallen. This news spread like a wildfire all-round the Myriad Realms, triggering people's happiness and emotions.
Feasts were thrown, dancing, singing, and entertainment were everywhere in the streets. Soon, it became a norm every year.
But nobody noticed that due to this, the stories of the Heavenly Demon never died. Mainly, the deeds about him fighting against hundred immortals. Various versions of them were circulated, and they were as popular as ever even for thousands of years.
Hence, the people were always fearful of the Heavenly Demon Cayden and their beliefs never died, giving rise to something even mighty.
