Once the crowd left, the atmosphere became tense. The heroes stood up and glanced at Cayden solemnly while the Divine Priest approached him slowly.
"How was the ceremony?" He asked with a smile on his face.
"Not bad! But have you ever wondered where it comes from?" Cayden also stood up, questioning him back.
Everyone's expression changed when they heard it. Despite owning this power for so long, they didn't know much about it. Only guesses they had.
"Isn't it Heaven's Gift?" Thaddeus confidently replied, causing Cayden to chuckle. "How so?"
"Three hundred years ago, the world changed and a new era arrived. Monsters, beats, and foreign races ran rampant, destroying everything in sight. Millions of humans lost their lives as we were weak against them. The weapons we were proud of had no impact." Thaddeus explained sorrowfully.
