Martin not really knowing what was happening didn't make a move. The young girl was really excited and watched the scene with wondering eyes and came closer and closer, too close for the man pulled her back.
"En al egnaréd sap." he said to her
"Tse'c sap tsuj!" She answered with displeasure
'This is definitely a language i have never heard before' Martin tell to himself.
Soon after the light disappeared, the orb stopped glowing and the woman's eyes returned to normal.
"Nos taté tse elbats li iul tuaf enu ennob tiun ed soper te li ares rus diep." The woman ordered the other two before leaving.
The man murmured something with an annoyed air then went out followed by the young girl. Martin stood there still not knowing what was going on. Only the little girl came back with a bowl filled with a green colored soup and a spoon. She gave it to Martin and gesture him to eat.
Like he just remembered he hadn't eaten anything for probably a couple of days.
Martin started devouring the soup. In less than a minute the bowl was empty and the girls start laughing. She grabbed the bowl went out and come back with it filled again.
As he started eating again, she started talking to him.
"iom ej elleppa'm Mitra te iot?" she say
"Sorry honey sweet but I don't understand" Martin replied with a puzzled look.
"iom tse'c Mitra, Mitra." she said showing herself with her finger
" Oh your name is Mitra, I'm Martin, Martin" he replied wile mimicking her.
" Malinn" her
"Martin" him
"Matin" her
"MA R TIN" him
"MARrrTtttin"her
"yeah that it Martin, well I think I need to see your father."
He tried to get up but he was too weak and Mitra almost jumped on him to force him to stay in bed. She gesture him to not move. She closed the little curtain of the little window take the bowl and got out of the bedroom. Tiredness caught Martin and fell asleep shortly after.
The next day he woke up when Mitra slammed the door to came in his room with breakfast, some milk and a kind of a bread. Martin started to eat and Mitra sat on the chair and began ta read a big old looking book.
" What are you reading" he ask pointing at the book.
She seems to understand him and came on the bed and showed to him the page she was on and started talking a lot but Martin couldn't understand a thing. So he show her in the book what seems to be a word.
"niam" she said while pointing to his hand.
"niam" he replied. 'is niam mean hand? Hum.. this is how I am going to learn there language' he tough.
Martin continued to show her word and Mitra try her best to describe with gesture what they are or there meaning. After a while they heared the man calling and the girl got out of the bed. She tell Martin to follow her.
They descended stairs, crossed a large room filled with table and chair, passed a door and joined the man who was in a kitchen. ' I'm in a restaurant, maybe an inn." Martin though.
The man stopped what he was doing and he gestured him to follow and that what he did. They went outside near a wood shed. The man put a log on a nearby stump and grabbed an ax. With a sharp gesture he cut the log in two and started again twice to end up with four pieces of wood.
"Dnauq ut inif it sel tem al." he said showing an empty side of the shed. After that he handed the ax to martin.
"You're kidding I have a broken arm I can't do that." he said to him showing his arm.
The man approached, grabbed his arm and took off her splint. Martin to afraid by this big guy don't do anything but soon he realized that his arm wasn't broken anymore. He inspected his body and discovered that although he still had pain everywhere he had no injuries.
"Woohh! Magic is awesome! I am already healed that should have take months to heal a broken arm" he shouted
He then looked at the man but he was already back inside. So he began to chop woods. It was difficult for him at the beginning because y has never done that before. He began to sweat and his muscles ached. The walks back and forth to the kitchen with the wood made him breathless. But after a while he was starting to get better at it and was doing it faster.
'This is fun' Martin though.
When the bearded man tell him to stop he came back inside the kitchen. The man showed him a vegetable that looked like a potato but was blue. With a knife he began to peel it then handed him the knife then he showed Martin a mountain of those strange potatoes and Martin understood right away.
' Well that at least I know how to do it' he thought half laughing.
The big guy was really please with the speed and ease with which martin peeled this vegetables.
"Jho, ej sius Jho" He tell him with his hand on his chest
"Nice to meet you Jho"
This is how his new life began for the weeks that followed. In the morning he tried to learn the language with Mitra. After that he went to cut wood, which feal like the amount of it increased every day. When there was no more wood to cut he had to work the land or picking vegetables in the vegetable garden. Then before mealtime he went to help Jho in the kitchen.
Jho loved his job, he ran this little inn in this little village. He did not have many customers. Well it was always the same ones that came every day with the exception of some travelers. Mitra although young she took care of the service. They didn't have many bedrooms, one less now that martin was in one of them, but time to time people was staying there for the night.
Their way of life was quite basic but Martin got to like it. He was very grateful for the kindness that Jho and Mitra offered him.
