Chapter 6 - A Fateful Meet (Part 5)

Jeju-si, South Korea.

The largest city on the island, home to various luxurious resorts and casinos was a hub of tourism. This city was a gold mine for the hospitality industry. Outside one of these resorts stood two people waiting for a person.

"Is she really coming for business? Are you sure she isn't here for any inspection?" One of them asked. The man seemed very nervous and anxious.

"All I know is that the President herself will be arriving. As for the rest of the details I am not privy to those."

The other man replied calmly.

"I don't believe you, Mr. Lark. After all, you are the most trusted person of the President."

Listening to this, Lark shrugged his shoulders.

Just then a G-Class SUV entered the premises and stopped before them. Lark calmly moved forward and opened the front door and a woman exited the vehicle.

Wearing a black suit with long black hair and pupils as deep as an abyss, she seemed like a personification of a goddess herself.

"Thank you, Uncle Lark."

Lark replied to her with a smile.

The woman then turned towards the other person, who stood there petrified by the beauty.

"Ahem." Lark coughed a little, dragging the man back from his stupor.

"Ah, President Lily, welcome to the resort. Everything has been arranged. Please this way I shall guide you to your room." The man spoke in a professional manner to which Lily nodded.

The trio moved inside the resort and the man who was supposedly the manager of the resort guided them toward the room.

Time by time, Lily would sweep her eyes toward the staff members working in the resort. She would briefly observe the work ethics and their demeanor. Very soon they reached a room. The manager handed Lily her room card and excused himself.

Lily entered the room, followed by Lark.

Lark was the closest family member to Lily and he was over sixty years old. Inside the room, Lily jumped on the bouncy bed and rolled over like a small child.

Uncle Lark watched this with a small smile on his face. After all, being such an influential person she had to restrain herself in front of the world, and only in isolation could she display such a behavior befitting of a twenty-four-year-old.

"Ahem, Madam, it is time for your medicine."

Sensing that Lily was about to doze off, Lark hurriedly reminded her.

Lily opened her eyes and sat down. She took out a small box of medicines from her bag while Lark handed her water. Watching Lily take medicines, a flash of grief passed by Lark's pupils.

After she was done, Lily lay down on the bed and quietly closed her eyes.

"Uncle Lark, you should take some rest too."

She quietly mumbled, as her consciousness was dragged into a deep sleep.

Lark took his leave after she slept.

Meanwhile, inside the resort at an inconspicuous corner, a door opened and a man exited the room. The man had a small leather book in one hand and was dressed neatly, with a black hat tucked in a white shirt and black pants along with a pair of black formal shoes holding a black umbrella. The man passed by various people but for some unknown reason, no one noticed him.

Just like that without anyone noticing he reached outside Lily's room. He stayed outside for a long time pondering about something. But ultimately he sighed and left.

Just when the man decided to leave the room, Lily, who was under the effect of the medicine, swiftly opened her eyes. She placed a hand on her heart which for some unknown reason was throbbing with minor pain. Her breathing soon turned rough and a bout of anxiety hit her.

Considering her actions it was understood that this wasn't the first time she was suffering from the same situation. She quietly stood up, drank a glass of water, and exited the room, moving towards the small garden of the resort for some fresh air. Despite her disheveled hair, her beauty did not diminish in the slightest.

The garden of the resort had a small open-air cafe in the center surrounded by views of beautiful flowers and greenery. A small path guided the tourists all around the garden. At various intervals, there were even benches for one to sit and enjoy the fresh air and the atmosphere.

Lily found herself a secluded bench and sat down. Her gaze wandered to the flowers, trees, and the blue sky filled with clouds and chirping birds. She closed her eyes and took in a waft of the fragrance around her. For some reason, the sight of nature and the greenery of the world always calmed her anxious heart and mind. This time too it was the same.

Suddenly the silence was disturbed by the harmony of footsteps that echoed in her heart. Her eyebrows turned into a frown as she opened her eyes. She observed a man walking towards her. His attire seemed a bit confusing as he was carrying an umbrella and had a black hat on. There was even a small book hanging from his waist. With one hand behind the man approached her.

For some unknown reason, she felt the world slowing down. A cool breeze softly caressed her face. As if the entire garden along with the flowers and the grass seemed to be swaying with joy because of his arrival. She couldn't take her eyes off that person.

The man approached her as he stood an arm's length from her. He moved his other hand from his back and there was a white lily in his hand. He gently knelt down and offered her the flower. Her hands moved subconsciously as she took hold of the flower.

The man then looked towards the sky, a patch of grey clouds could be seen forming at a distance. He swept his hand over the umbrella he was holding and placed it beside her. Lily looked towards the umbrella and just as she turned around the man was gone as if he didn't even exist in the first place.

Her senses returned back to her.
