"All hail King Sicarius!"
"All hail King Sicarius!"
"All hail King Sicarius!"
Sicarius smiled a dull smile, seemingly lifeless at the millions of people cheering his name. It was so deafening that it made the very ground he stood on tremble. So much respect and veneration for him, another group of millions of which adores him, it didn't really matter to him.
Sicarius waved his hand, motioning for silence, the millions of citizens stills.
"People of Mundo, I am here to say my farewells!"
Despite being one man, his booming voice reached each and every person on the planet. At first, there was awe at the magnitude of his voice but followed it was the understanding of his words. Their divine hero, the keeper of peace was about to depart. The whole population was in a panic.
They did not dare to utter a single sound, they immensely venerated him and since he wanted silence they kept silent. They simply expressed their reactions on their face through tears. Silently dripping on every face, millions of faces all wet with tears flowing like rivers, soon teardrops formed puddles on the ground.
"Our God has called upon me therefore I must depart as soon as possible. I apologize to you all my dear people. Perhaps if you pray and worship our God vehemently he may allow me to visit you all once more. You have all been kind to me. Thank you, and farewell my people!"
Sicarius bowed and raised his hand with open palms, signaling the crowd that they may speak then dissipated in the air like dust. Not lingering any longer to hear the overwhelming roars of sadness from the millions of people he abandoned.
When he materialized he was in front of his God. The very god that made it possible for him to be the most powerful being on countless planets. His body was nothing but darkness. A bleak hole in the luminescence of the universe that devours anything and everything but Sicarius himself.
Sicarius kneeled in front of God, "I have returned my God. There is no being in Mundo who does not know of your great power and divinity."
God laughed, a deep booming sound that resonated through the universe. "I know Sicarius, I feel the surge of prayers for your return already," he paused," you are close, extremely close to becoming divine such as I. You only need to conquer one more world."
Words that Sicarius has heard time and time again. Sicarius has never shown disobedience toward God, except for now. He stood up from his kneeling and stared at the black hole with stony eyes.
"You said that thousands of years ago, my God." Sicarius was seething, he spoke with a cold venomous tone laced in his words. "I fear that you intend to make me do your bidding for eternity."
Sicarius couldn't see God. All God was, was a hole in space, and yet Sicarius felt that whatever expression God may have now was not anything pleasant. Silence ensued for minutes, which felt dreadfully longer as time passed.
"I apologize if I spoke with disrespect my God." Sicarius kneeled once again, deeper this time, more subservient.
For a while, the silence remained, Sicarius was still as stone. He was too ungrateful, too reckless. This very god can kill him like a fly with but a mere breath. If God had decided to kill him right then and there wouldn't all the hard work be for nothing?
Luckily, God simply sighed, " I apologize, Sicarius. I have been asking too much from you. Stand Sicarius and we shall begin your ascendance to divinity." God's voice was mellow as if he was a parent looking over his child, tinged with worry and care. This was the same voice he had when he first called upon Sicarius thousands of years ago.
Sicarius stood, and bowed. He waited for any more procedures from God but God was silent as if hesitating.
"Sicarius, I know you long for divinity, you long for it so much that you have endured my commands for millennia. However, you must understand that there are requirements you have to reach to accept divinity within yourself. As of now, you can barely be qualified, if we proceed with the procedure, the universe will strive to interfere with your ascendance and shower you with misfortune as the heavens do not want more Gods."
Sicarius was silent.
"Do you understand Sicarius? I do not want you to die after all these years of effort to accumulate karma."
"Will you not be able to revive me, God?" Sicarius asked,
"No, I can not meddle with divinity if it kills you, as it is the same level as me."
"My God, how much more karma do I need to accumulate?" Sicarius returned to a kneel,
"All you have to do is one more world, Sicarius, just one more, and you can be a god." God bellowed,
"I will obey my God, which world do you want me to save?"
"Very good Sicarius,"
Sicarius blinked, in that mere blink God has sent him millions of light-years away, for as he opened his eyes he was in front of a planet. Oceanic blue with green scattered through it, a planet of beauty and life.
"This is Earth," God said, "The planet you will destroy."
Sicarius furrowed his brows, his expression not hidden at all. He had killed countless beings throughout his life. If they were all counted he most likely killed more than a planet's population, but that was through thousands of planets. He had never in one world massacred the whole population. It was evident in his expression that Sicarius was hesitant, therefore God made it clear.
"You have accumulated an amazing amount of good karma so far Sicarius" God explained, "Now I need you to balance out that good karma with the most heinous of acts, and that is the eradication of a planet. The bad karma from this will cause a reaction with your excessive good karma that will temporarily destabilize your karma completely, and that is the time that you are completely disconnected from the universe and will be able to ascend without any disturbances."
"Do you understand Sicarius?" The hole in space, God, seemed to pull Sicarius in from behind as he spoke,
"I want you," God had no eyes but Sicarius felt his gaze on the back of his head" to eradicate every living being on this planet."
Sicarius Venia nodded, the command was clear. There was no use hesitating now after thousands of worlds of effort. It was the final world he would be reborn in, the last reincarnation, the end of his journey through worlds. After being the most powerful being in more than a thousand worlds, he has to start once again, back from zero. This is the final climb to the top—the last mission, in order to become a true god.
