Everyone was very surprised. I liked this feeling. This was the feeling of proving everyone else wrong. I decided to abort the tense atmosphere.
"9 more moves to go"
Voldov kept on trying his best to hit me within 9 moves, but I dodged very easily. So this was the difference when you were a rank apart. It made me feel quite good. As Voldov desperately put his all into his last punch, I decided to take it head-on with a punch of my own to show the villagers that I had the strength to give them hope of being saved.
As our fists met each other, I made sure to use only about 30% of my strength which was possible due to my heightened senses. Even then, Voldov was blown back swifter than an arrow. He crashed into a hut and it broke down. I didn't think 30% of my strength could accomplish this feat.
Everyone was rather shocked. This brought be déjà vu. Then the old man came up to me.
"How are you so strong? He was the strongest warrior in this village."
"I said that I was pretty strong. I wasn't joking."
This made my dominance firm. The villagers came towards me and all of them knelt around me.
"Please save us!" they pleaded to me with their utmost sincerity.
Among those who were kneeling, I instantly spotted the old man too. As the head of the village, kneeling down to someone from another race definitely took a lot of courage. I admired him even more now. I responded to the ground.
"I will"
They seemed delighted. The whole village was in an uproar by now. The old man took me back to his house and asked me to stay there as long as I wanted. He gave me the best food in the entire village but I knew that they couldn't afford to continue this.
"Sir, you don't have to treat me like this. I already decided to help you" I said while he was pouring me emerald green tea which smelled delicious.
"What is your name?" he asked politely.
"I'm Tony Schleider."
"Mr. Schleider, I am not treating you like this because I'm afraid that you would change your mind. I'm treating your mind because you agreed to us. Consider this our gratitude for someone as powerful as yourself agreeing to help us."
This made sense. They were grateful to me. This was honestly the first time anyone was thankful to me.
"I'm sorry but even I'm not sure whether I can beat it. In my race there is a ranking system and that Krial is about 1 or 2 stages above me. At most, I can only give you time to deploy a huge attack on it while I stall it for a few minutes."
He seemed to think deeply about something. I wondered what it was.
"We might have some way to help you get power equal to the Krial. But unfortunately, I cannot guarantee anything."
"What is it?" I inquired.
"Come with me," he said standing up.
Where were we going? He went around his house. Surprisingly, I saw one of the huge trees from before not far away. Just how did I not see it before? I was certain that it was not visible when I first came here.
"If you are wondering why you couldn't see it before, it's because of a mist. It creates illusions to abort the eyes of strangers. All the villagers can see it."
This was quite clever. I was impressed. This really was an eye-opener. Due to their physical inferiority, humans adapted different types of technologies to cope with them. Although most of the races didn't have even 1% of the technology possessed by humans, their naturally gifted powers allowed them to not fall behind. This was one of those powerful powers.
I continued following him to the foot of the tree.
When we arrived there, the old man looked around. I supposed he was looking whether someone was peeking. After confirming that it wasn't the case, he put his arm in a hollow and seemed to pull something.
Then he immediately took his hand away and stepped back. The ground shook and a door of a 10-meter height and 5-meter width slid open.
He gestured for me to come along with him as he went inside the huge tree.
