With this, the master disappeared in green mist again. His bloodline power seemed to be very powerful. I had no idea what the master meant.
The other captains too left the room. Before that Captain Neil placed Captain Ann on her throne again. By the time they all had departed, Captain Ann seemed to have calmed down. She was steadily breathing. However, her hair was like a crow's nest. It was extremely messy. She cleared her throat and tried to act normal. But she was clearly still shivering. But she managed to speak.
"Alright then Mr. Schleider, I am going to strengthen your soul strength. I hope you do manage to use your kindred powers. I also hope you don't go over to the dark side by then and make me regret doing this" she said, her voice breaking occasionally.
I nodded seriously and promised, "I won't"
She nodded and gestured for me to come forward. She then put her thumb and index finger on my forehead and I saw the blue light slowly merging with me. I suddenly felt a comforting cold gush through my forehead. I don't know how to explain it, but…everything seemed to be…clearer than before. I seemed to understand my body more.
I felt as though I could control my strength better now and deliver a punch that was twice as stronger as before. I also felt that I would be able to run faster than before. So this was the miraculous effect of Captain Ann's power.
After this, Captain Ann mustered her strength and gave us a lecture on the use of kindred soul powers and what we use them for. She didn't teach us how to use them. It was rather disappointing. But I figured I had no right to say anything as Captain Ann already expended a year's worth of her bloodline power for us.
After the lecture, we walked out together.
Christina greeted us and went the other way. It looked like me and Nicola walked the other way with no particular objective. We learned from someone that everyone was to remain in the moon inns for three days until their uniforms and badges were made. So we just went back to watch the river of stars. It was awkward ever since we parted with Captain Ann.
