Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 The Sins Of A Father Are Bore By His Son When He's Gone

"The king is back," hundreds of beasts stopped whatever they're doing as they looked towards the direction of the aura of their king.

"Do we get ready to attack, commander?" Thuka's head was raised as he asked the black horned deer a few inches in front of him.

"Get the other three[3] beast-lords to come with you. The four[4] of you will join me in welcoming the king and his companion," Ubei ordered as he anticipated Shung Yun's arrival.

"Yes, commander," Thuka said as he left to carryout Ubei's orders.

"We're here," Shung Yun said as Ikunga stopped ten[10] fts away from the five[5] beasts towering more than seven[7] fts in height in front of him.

"It's really as Byui Tang said," commander Nai thought as he stared at the black colored deer with claws on its limbs, "It isn't an ordinary beast."

"Grrw!" Ubei growled as he took a couple of steps forward.

"He's asking what we want," Shung Yun said as he interpreted what Ubei said to commander Nai.

A little surprised seeing what Byui Tang told him happening in front of his eyes, commander Nai said, "we want the help of you and the beasts under your rule to help scout the forest for Quing Village spies in the surrounding."

"Grrrww!" Ubei growled as he turned his face to the beast-lords beside him.

"He said that will cause his underlings to cross into the territories of other beasts, causing battles that might take their lives," Shung Yun interpreted to commander Nai.

"You'll get to keep your territory if we ever plan to expand the coasts of my village," commander Nai said to Ubei.

"Roar!! Roar!!!" Ubei roared as a dreadful aura oozed out of his body.

"He said that the beasts occupied the forest way before we humans arrived," Shung Yun conveyed to commander Nai.

"The strong has always been the deciding force in a region. Your beast race is one of the races to implement that," commander Nai said as his aura suppressed that of Ubei's, "I don't want my soldiers to get hurt, that's the reason I want your help."

With seconds of silence gradually turning to minutes of silence, Ubei growled, stating his price.

"He wants a territory having a circumference of 32 miles, with eight[8] mile behind him as the center," Shung Yun interpreted.

"It's too close," commander Nai said looking at Ubei, "move one hundred and sixty[160] miles deeper into the forest and we have a deal."

"Grrww!" Ubei growled as he communicated with Shung Yun.

"He said that the village might not expand in the next eighty[80] years. So, the village won't be at conflict with his request," Shung Yun said to commander Nai.

"What about when it's time for the village to expand? Would you leave and go deeper into the forest?" commander Nai asked.

"Grw!" Ubei growled as he answered commander Nai.

"He said yes," Shung Yun interpreted Ubei's growl to commander Nai.

"Here," Elder Huifan said as he passed an arrow with flame colored Qi on its head to the upper-stage female youth with a bow beside him.

"I'm not certain I can kill the upper-stage fierce beast if I shoot at it," the upper-stage female youth said as she pinned the arrow on the string of her bow.

"I don't want to kill the beast. I just want it to be infuriated and attack Byui Nai and the kid," Elder Huifan said as he stared viciously at Shung Yun.

"The kid will die if the beasts attack," the upper-stage female youth said as she looked at Elder Huifan.

"That's exactly what I want," Elder Huifan said as he kept his gaze on Shung Yun.

"Can I ask what he did to you that would warrant death?" the upper-stage male youth asked.

"He did nothing to me. But the sins of a father must be bore by his son when he's gone," Elder Huifan said to the upper-stage female youth.

"Then, why don't I just kill the kid? I sure I can easily pull that off," the upper-stage female youth said.

"That will prompt the village to critically investigate his death. And if the culprit is found, the punishment will be death," Elder Huifan said as he looked at the hired archer, "but if a beast did it, even if it was incited by a human, there will be several explanations on why he or she shot at the beast."

"I understand," the upper-stage female youth said as she aimed at Ubei's left eye, "pickaboom!"

Twii!! Whoosh!!

"I look forward to yo....,"

Clang!!

Commander Nai's words were cut short as the clash between Ubei's horn and the shot-out arrow rang out in the dense forest.

"Rooar!!!" Ubei roared as he looked aggressively at commander Nai.

"Sir, is there a second plan to take out Ubei?" Shung Yun asked with his battle-axe already in his hand.

"No. Stay behind me, kid," commander Nai said as he kept his sight on Ubei and the four[4] beasts beside him.

"Do we attack the human beside the king, commander?" Thuka asked Ubei as he paid attention to his surroundings.

"We won't be able to kill him even if we attack," Ubei said as he glanced at Ikunga, "focus on finding the one who shot the arrow."

"Sakid must have already begin," Thuka said with his gaze switching between commander Nai and his surroundings.

"Why aren't they attacking?" Elder Huifan grumbled as he looked at the stalemate between the beasts and commander Nai.

"Do I shoot another arrow?" the female hired assassin asked as she took out another arrow from her quiver.

"That mig..... Something is close," Elder Huifan stopped his answer to the hired assassin as he looked attentively at the trees around him.

"What is it?" the upper-stage female youth asked.

"We're leaving," Elder Huifan said as he got stood up from his squatted position.

"The kid isn't dead," the upper-stage female youth said.

"There will be other chances to kill him. But we'll have to stay hidden first," Elder Huifan said as he jumped from the branch underneath his feet.

"Did something move?" the upper-stage female youth was confused as she looked at the trunk of a tree two[2] trees from the one she's standing on, "must be my imagination."

Leaving after coming to that conclusion, the upper-stage female youth quickly drew closer to the entrance of the forest.

"They left quickly," a fifty[50] inches thick and ten[10] meters long snake hissed as it coiled on the trunk of a tree two[2] trees away from his target.

"Roar!" Ubei roared before retreating from the negotiation spot, with Ikunga and the other four[4] beast-lords leaving with him.

"Why is your beast leaving too?" commander Nai asked Shung Yun.

"Ubei must be furious because of the arrow shot at him," Shung Yun said as he looked at the direction Ubei left with the other beasts, "he no longer trusts Ikunga with me."

"That means the negotiation we agreed on is no longer valid," commander Nai said as he also looked at the direction the beasts left through.

"Yes. And Ubei might no longer value the contract he had with me," Shung Yun looked sad as he spoke to commander Nai.

"We should leave for now," commander Nai said as he climbed on the back of his horse, "get on."

Looking at the direction Ubei left with Ikunga and the other beasts for a few seconds, Shung Yun sighed before sitting behind commander Nai on his horse.

"Ya!" commander Nai tapped his feet on the stomach of his horse, signally it to take off.

"What are you planning, my king?" Ubei thought as he stopped running deeper into the forest.
