"The trial begins tomorrow morning," the commander of Dragonbreath Section of the Byui village military declared as he looked at Nue Su and Shung Yun.
"I'll be watching you, boy. If I see a hint of you trying to escape, I'll be taking your head no matter what your military rule says," Nue Su threatened as he began heading for his horse.
"Come with me, Shung Yun," commander Jian said as he walked to his office.
Getting up to his feet, Shung Yun trailed behind commander as he mouthed some words to himself.
Taking his seat after reaching his office, commander Jian looked intensely at Shung Yun before saying, "tell me about this contract with a low-rank upper-stage jade horn deer."

"Let begin," the commander of Dragonbreath Section said as he sat in the middle chair flanked by four[4] seats at both sides.
"Captain Yun, step forward," he said to the middle-stage youth sitting on one of the seats in the front row of the spectators' seats.
Arrayed in a blue colored robe, Shung Yun stepped forward before standing a few fts from the long desk containing the nine[9] judges for his trial.
"Shung Yun, greets senior," he said as he bowed his upper body.
"Hmph! Your facade won't save you from your punishment," Nue Su snorted as he looked at Shung Yun.
"Elder Su, please mind your temper," commander Nai, the commander of Dragonbreath Section said to Nue Su.
Turning to Shung Yun, he said, "you've been accused of killing Nue Xiu and Nue Chan, two[2] elite soldiers from the Cloudstep Section of our Byui village miliary. Do you deny it?"
"No, Sir," Shung Yun said.
"Why did you kill two[2] elite soldiers of our Byui village military despite knowing the rule concerning the killing of a fellow soldier?" commander Nai asked.
"It was an act of self-defense, Sir," Shung Yun answered.
"Was severing their heads an act of self-defense?" commander Nai asked Shung Yun.
"That was due to the fury I felt when my fellow soldiers tried to end my life for no ap.. apparent reaso... reason," crystal liquid hung at the bottom of Shung Yun's eyes as he stuttered between his words.
"Is he crying?" commander Jian felt confused as he looked at Shung Yun, "he didn't even shed a drop of tear when he informed me of the death of nine[9] of his soldiers."
"He's lying!" Nue Hujin shot up to his feet as he pointed at Shung Yun, "he said the reason for severing Nue Chan's head was because she's his enemy. And that he doesn't care about the statuses of his enemies before he killed them."
"Sit down, soldier. You'll be called if we need any witnesses," commander Nai said to Nue Hujin.
"You said you were furious because of the action taken by the two[2] elite soldiers from the Cloudstep Section, right?" he asked Shung Yun.
"Yes, Sir," Shung Yun said.
"Then I want to ask, did Nue Chan die by the severing of her head? Or was she already dead before you severed her head?" commander Nai asked.
"Sh.. she was already de.. dead before I severed her h... head," Shung Yun stuttered as he cleaned the tears on his eyes.
"That means you had enough time to restrain yourself from decapitating the victim's head," commander Nai said as he kept his eyes on Shung Yun.
"Getting betrayed by the people I thought had my back. There's no amount of control that could've subsided my fury in order to make a rational decision at that moment," Shung Yun said solemnly, with no trace of tears or sadness on his face.
"Pinning their heads on the horns of a beast, was that also the result of your fury?" commander Nai asked Shung Yun.
"That wasn't my idea, Sir. Ubei was the one who suggested it," Shung Yun said defensively.
"Seems like what Shung Wen and the rest reported were true. He can really communicate with beasts of the beast race," commander Jian thought as he heard how freely Shung Yun spoke about Ubei.
"Even if it was your beast that suggested it, couldn't you have declined to do it?" commander Nai asked.
"Declining Ubei would've put a strain on the contract we signed. Risking that for a corpse didn't seem wise to me," Shung Yun said to commander Nai.
"I swear to the tree goddess that I will take your life," Nue Su trebled with anger as he saw how little Shung Yun regarded the corpse of his niece.
"You've all heard the defendant. Is there anything you would like to ask?" commander Nai asked his fellow judges.
"I would like to ask something from the defendant," the middle-stage elderly woman from the Shung clan said.
"You can go ahead, Elder Li," commander Nai said.
"Did you have any disagreement with Nue Xiu before she attacked you?" Elder Li asked Shung Yun.
"I haven't spoken to senior Xiu before she tried to kill me. So, I can't say we had any disagreement," Shung Yun said.
"Then, do you have any idea why she attacked you?" Elder Li asked.
"I think it's because of Ubei," Shung Yun said with his left hand holding his chin, "she must have tried to kill me after seeing me touching Ubei without any aggression from him."
"That means she attacked you out of spite and jealousy. Which is heavily frowned upon by the Byui military and the village as a whole," Elder Li said as she shook her head, "the Nue clan is really unlucky to product a descendant of such vicious heart. Thank the goddess she has left this world to walk the Nether realm."
"Elder Li! Have you no conscience for the dead!?" Nue Su's voice was deep as he questioned the middle-stage elderly woman.
"I'm just stating a fact, Elder Su. Your daughter is better off dead than to be alive to cause chaos in the village," Elder Li said calmly.
Boom!!
An aggressive aura erupted out of Nue Su as he shot up to his feet.
"Say that one more time and I will send you to the grave you've been defiling all these years, old witch," he said as a killing intent exuded from him.
"I wonder if you would've been able to speak like this ten[10] years ago, Elder Su," Elder Li said as she slowly shook her head.
"Take your seat, Elder Su," commander Nai said as he glanced at Nue Su.
Feeling his heart tightened at the glance of commander Nai, Nue Su calmed his temper before taking his seat.
"Is there anymore question for the young soldier?" commander Nai asked.
",..,"
Seeing the elders shaking their heads, he said, "captain Yun of the Warhead Section, I find you not guilty for killing soldier Xiu and soldier Chan of the Cloudstep Section. You're hereby free from every charge raised against you by the military rule."
"I thank the judges for a fair trial," Shung Yun said as he bowed his upper body, "Shung Yun will use his power and ability to take the village to greater heights."
"Your efforts will be heavily appreciated," commander Nai said as he got a good impression from Shung Yun.
"The trial is hereby called to an end. You can all take your leave," he said as he got up to his feet.
"Shung Yun, you'll be paired with one of your soldiers until your room gets rebuilt," commander Jian said as he left his seat.
"I would like to be paired with Shung Kai, Sir," Shung Yun said.
"Alright," commander Jian nodded as he left the trial hall of the Byui military.
..
"How was your stay?" Shung Yun asked as he looked beyond the steel bars in front of him.
"Boring, my king," Ikunga said as he stood up from his cross-legged position.
