A humming sound came from the Orbs and each started to glow in an ominous radiance, Ramiel place his hand over his knees as he was about to fall forward, and the Fomorian Flame spider made its move and just lunge down to bite his body in half, he was too tired to react when a memory made him want to fight back, within a split second flash of different colors burst out in random,
screeching and moaning sounds were heard, and he quickly regains his stamina to a degree that only high-level stamina potions can achieve,
as e focus his eyes sight he was still standing on top of heaps of dead carcasses and saw the devastation that surrounded him, the orbs became enchantment symbols, and he ask himself a typical rational question
"what the hell is happening!"
when a single orb was still in its original form just floating two feet in front of him he try to touch it suddenly crack like an egg it burst open, and like the other eight symbols it also became one, he just created the same attack and defensive spell that the parasite worm made inside his lucid dreaming world, but unlike in that dream this was different, especially the number it represented is this another flimsy dream and once again he was a victim of that parasite,
but when he touched his side a hard long wooden object was embedded in his flesh, it was a broken arrow, his stamina finally gave him the strength to check his body and finally realize he was in a bad state, he couldn't just pull the arrow out because he will bleed out, so he just slowly move down from the piles of dead torn apart bodies,
he understood well that staying in a huge mountain of food was the last thing he needs to do he was holding the broken arrow on his upper waist trying to secure his wound from opening even more, he finally got down and was able to walk further away as more monster walk right by, with hungry looks on their eyes the place he had just been was a huge smorgasbord of delicacy
the long arrow shaft was hitting small scrubs and bushes in the area and it was really painful so he firmly grab the wooden shaft and used his thumb to break it, the arrowhead was still in his body he can easily remove it, but he needs something to stop the bleeding, waiting in that area was not helping him gain the needed material, so he just walk toward his destination and used the opportunity that most of the monster were preoccupied with eating what was left with the battle,
Ramiel was walking in a normal phase when he realized the floating enchantment symbol was gone, thinking he might be just hallucination due to battle fatigue and stress Deep down he wish and really hope it was not the case, but now he needs time to recuperate and get some medical attention.
until he is finally able to get a worn-out mage cape that was stuck on a branch, but the problem was getting it without opening his wound so using his chain battle mace as a grappling hook was out of the question, the safest way was to climb up in and get it the normal way, he slowly ascended up the tree and never once let his guard down knowing the place has remarkably dangerous,
it wasn't that high and once again sat on the branch that was 20 meters above the ground he took out his small knife and cast fire to kill any bacteria on the blade or sterile it, and after using it to safely remove the arrowhead that has created inflicted a massive amount of damage to any tissue, he was still in pain and just bite down at the daggers leather scabbard as he pulls out the arrowhead and used the worn out cape that already ripped it into long strips and before wrapping his wound,
Ramiel took the dagger again and heats it with his new enchantment spell sill until it was burning bright red and len bac ward and firmly used his both legs to secure his position and with his right hand he held his upper wast where the would-be located and add pressure on it as he Cauterizes his wound with his pre-heated dagger, he felt the heat from the dagger even if it was still a few inches from his opened wound,
but something captured his attention as another parasite worm was about to attach itself to his neck when he lean forward and used the hot dagger and throw it at the pest instantly killing it until he saw the dagger burn the worm and began to spread when the dagger got pulled out the burning skin of the tree bark subsided and never grew,
"'Was able to cast a fire spell?"
"without having any kind of physical drawbacks on my body, I am perfectly fine!"
while thinking "Can I now use my powers?"
suddenly an enchantment symbol came out in front of him, it was the last orb after it turned into a spell symbol and instantly heal him, the wound on his side was no longer there, and this made Ramiel instantly happy and began to think of simultaneous spells on his mind as nine came out and started to activate without inflicting pain in his body, he double check and made sure this was real and wanted to test this,
Again, he was weirded out by the situation, considering the parasitic worm was a blessing in disguise, Without further delay, he ran toward the particular place that was oozing with miasma, and he could now instantly Arcane sonar detection was fully activated, and with heightened senses, he could see every living organism within a mile radius. The entire surrounding area was a perilous jungle filled with monsters and deadly creatures waiting quietly and patiently to catch any possible prey. He knew he had to be cautious, as even the slightest mistake could mean his demise.
His heart raced as he scanned the area, looking for any signs of danger. He spotted a group of wraiths in the distance, their eyes fixed on him. He knew he had to keep moving if he wanted to survive, but it was a futile attempt because
These spectral beings open the portal with their first cast, then choose to end it with a second cast, travelling a limited distance in between to reach their targets and kill them in small gaps. This made it almost impossible for Ramiel to outrun them. However, he remembered something he had read in an ancient text about these beings. They were vulnerable to fire and electricity, and they are really hard to distribute. The fifth monster list was to avoid, but this was a perfect opportunity to fully understand the enemy that no adventurer had even properly defeated without the use of artefacts.
Ramiel is an avid student of knowledge and experience, so with this, he has decided to fully master his new skill just in case the lucid dream he got from the parasitic worm was a real memory rather than a made-up scenario and was not just a figment of his imagination. With confidence and excitement,
he confronted the Wraiths head he didn't even need to run far the ten Wraiths instantly attacked him, but with his spell still active he was able to evade most of the stabbing attacks and deflected the others by using his mace and what even was left with the chain attached to his primary weapon to be his arm guard,
Ramiel was full of stamina and eagerness to fight with all of his skill as the Wraiths were moving in a pattern similar to those well-known Feudal warring states of Japan, the feared and deadly Ninja, the Wraiths were not even leaving a mark on the ground as they glide and move with the wind as each of these creatures were excellent in using short daggers in close range fighting,
the exchanges of blows were so fast some monsters that accidentally stood on their path were slashed to death as they never once stop to look at where their fight led them to be, the fight continue until they landed on a different land terrain carving a path of destruction on their wake within the forsaken forest.
the terrain was still filled with huge trees and roots and plant life but what made it significantly different was the huge stone pillars and ruins that were similar to the structures he saw while under the mind control of the parasitic worm, Ramiel was smiling even the Wraith were amazed to encounter a being with excellent fighting skill, the ten Wraith move back and communicated with hand gestures that Ramiel notice was a little similar to the human sign language,
he closely watches their hand gestures and tries to, break down each sign and find a similar connecting reference to the human version, their communication was brief but one signs were similar and that was
"fight "
"form both hands into fists, then have them cross each other in front of me, as they move them apart intermittently a couple of times."
Ramiel took a defensive stance and line up his attack spell on his mind, and waited for them to attack once again, but this time the Wraiths were attacking Ramiel with magical attacks, their movements were more fluid and not forced each slash was powerful enough to carve a ton of solid rock was made of a cardboard box, Ramiel continues the fight but he still could get why the ten Wraith didn't show any animosity and malice toward him, as if the ten were having a duel rather than to kill an enemy,
their slashes and stabs were deep but not fatal, Ramiel got stabbed many times but they miss vital organs most of the time, and sometimes two or more would break loose from attacking formation and communicate with each other once again by sign language after nearly two hours of fighting Ramiel got fed up with constant erratic actions of these ten Wraiths and tried to communicate with them in a sign language until the Wraith just stare at him and they all clap hands as one the Wraith gesture pointing all of them and with both hands, both thumbs was touching both forefinger and gesture a rolling motion in front of its chest indicating the sign word for "atonement"
"so you want to fight me and atone for something that all of you had and didn't do in the past,"
"and the only to get that atonement was to get beat by a stronger opponent to gain all your honour?"
all ten nodded and gave out a respectable kneel and wants to have an honorable fight but certain conditions must be met, and one of those conditions must be all out and to the death, and even one wraith took a stick and draw an image of a Death knight thirty of them, that were all high ranking was part of their main unit,
the voiceless communication took a while as two of the Wraith tried their very best to explain the details and even gave Ramiel an old parchment paper with military instructions for a battle strategy, while the eight Wraith warriors secured their possible salvation from any unwanted attacker from the forest,
"huh! Ah! The explanation was a bit hard to understand. but you are saying it all boils down to one thing, and that was to fight with all of your might and die at the hand of a powerful foe."
the ten Wraiths nodded in agreement in unison and pointed at the far east where their unit was stationed before, Ramiel looked at them just ran toward where they were pointing as the ten followed behind him, killing any beast that was foolish enough to stand on their atonement and salvation from their curse thousand of years ago.
they ran for nearly five hours with a few minute interval breaks, until the smell of the sea was flowing inside the forest they finally reached a cliff that had a hundred-meter drop, and Ramiel saw a magnificent view that took his breath away, and the Wraith pointed at a location where a huge ruined remnant of a city could be seen covered with plants and near an unseen civilization in the most dangerous place in the land, and the very center was a rundown crumbling massive arena,
"so it is true, it wasn't made up after all!"
Ramiel gave out a big smile, and just jump off the hundred-meter drop cliff, and the impact was so loud the Death Knights were awakened and started to converge to one location, while a white hair with golden eyes emerge out of a five-foot deep cavern that he made and walked toward his final task on this fifth day he will finally meet the Guardians of the sacred roots,
"Guardians, plural not singular, very interesting indeed!"
