Chapter 145 - Chapter 145

Nothing is more fascinating than seeing something that was created by bare hand and the accumulated knowledge the builders achieve thru research and ingenuity,

A huge majestic city much older than anything Ramiel has ever seen was right in front of him, even if it was already consumed by the forest vegetation and left to crumble into ruins seeing it this close made him fascinated with the story of this abandoned city while inspecting the place a few creatures roam the area but they were docile even if they were massively powerful,

a Drake would just walk past him, Ramiel had been in enough dangerous situations to know when to hold his ground and when to back down. As he stood in a defensive posture, he watched as one of the Wraiths gestured for him not to draw his weapon. It was clear that he was outnumbered and outmatched.

Suddenly a deafening roar echoed through the abandoned city streets. Looking up, Ramiel saw a swarm of wyverns perched on top of old buildings that had become their nest. The largest one was as big as an earth cargo truck and seemed to be leading the pack.

The creatures that made the city their home were a fascinating sight to behold. They were unlike any other high-level creatures that roamed the forest, as they seemed to be immune to the miasma that plagued the area. Despite their strength and power, these creatures exhibited a certain level of intelligence and dignity that was rarely seen in other creatures. It was clear that they had formed a symbiotic relationship with the city, living in harmony with those who also called it home.

Until the Ten Wraiths stopped moving, while their leader pointed toward a pillar made of Mithril steel, Ramiel could feel a sense of awe and wonder. The ten-foot structure held a purple crystal that emanated a unique energy that seemed to connect to the numerous similar pillars surrounding it. As he looked up, Ramiel could see that the pillars created a dome-like thin energy covering that was bigger than the coliseum in Avarel City.

The energy seemed to pulse and vibrate with an otherworldly power that left him breathless. It was as if this place held some ancient knowledge or secret, waiting to be unlocked by those who dared to seek it out. As he stood there, gazing up at the pulsing dome above him, Ramiel felt a sense of excitement and anticipation.

" What mysteries lie hidden within this place?"

"What secrets would be revealed, I need to explore further? "

With a deep breath, he stepped forward, ready to discover what lay beyond the threshold of this incredible structure. The arena entrance was massive and was created with pure passion. When he heard a voice, it was the Wraith accompanying him, and they explained the reason

the Wraith unit leader introduce himself as Farfold Virtheon and further explained the reason they were lurking in the forest searching for any warrior who was strong enough to survive this deadly place,

their task was to test this particular warrior if he or she was powerful enough to help them on their last task to break their eternal curse left by their creator and master, Ramiel was curious about a certain incident that made him see a similar dream when he was attacked by a particular parasitic worm creature a day ago,

the Wraith Farfold Virtheon told him that he is not the only person who was able to get this far but sadly never had the opportunity to break their curse nor get back out alive due to the circumstances those warriors had to overcome again, It is believed that the parasitic worms that infested the cursed land had gained valuable information from feeding on the fallen warriors. They knew how to exploit weaknesses and take advantage of vulnerabilities in those who dared to challenge the curse.

It was sinister that they were trapped in a never-ending cycle of battle and death, unable to escape their fate. It was a cruel existence, one that no one should have to endure. But despite their struggles, these silent warriors never gave up hope.

Unfortunately, fate was not on their side. The circumstances they faced were too great for even the bravest of warriors to overcome. Many powerful adventurers, hunters, and mages that came from different Guilds died trying to break the curse or escape and come back out of the forest alive, It was a tragic end for these brave souls who had given everything they had in the fight for glory, power and fame.

surviving while travelling inside was already life-threatening and brutal, Imagine doing it again just to get out, as for their curse they are bound by this energy mist, going out will disable their ability to communicate, and for nearly five decades no other being besides the first six warriors ever survived their test and was able to enter the arena until now,

"you are the seventh being to have successfully defended and survive our onslaught,"

"We apologise for acting that way, considering we were the ones who attack you first without reason, we are bound to rules imposed on us,"

Ramiel accepted the Wraith's apology and told them that he came here to seek the Guardian of the Forest and wanted to know if they are related to the being he is searching for, the ten nodded but were unable to answer his question and just told him he must free them from the chains that made them wait for nearly five hundred years,

a female Wraith gave Ramiel certain rules if he accepts the challenge and the reward he will gain,

"This is peculiar, whose flag do you serve your allegiance ?"

"We are under the command of the great General Ceraun of the white flame ."

"We were created to serve the Seventh eternal will, as we are to be an offering to his atonement and plan,"

The Wraith explained that the arena was built by an ancient civilization that used it to test their warriors' skills and train them for battle. As they walked deeper into the arena, he marvelled at the intricate carvings on the walls and the elaborate designs on the floor. Suddenly, they came across an open storage area filled with weapons of all kinds. Swords, axes, spears, and bows lined the walls, each one more impressive than the last.

He couldn't resist picking up a sword and testing its weight in his hand. The wraith smiled knowingly and led him to a training area where he could practice his skills with some of the weapons. As he swing the weapon, he felt a sense of exhilaration that he had never experienced before, until he saw a huge closed door that was different in size, decoration and scale,

"great warrior you can challenge the Arena combatant beyond that gate, those warriors including us ten and thirty other Death Knights will indulge in a battle to the death with a prize of wealth, power, and a safe passage to return back home upon completion,"

"if you choose to accept this challenge, just enter that door walk at the centre Arena and state your name and proclaim your willingness to fight toward the former resident of this land,"

after all nine Wraiths left leaving only one to answer his question, while the male warrior investigate the place he was in

Ramiel saw many types of hourglass ranging from 0ne hour to an entire day among the items scattered all over the place, many books were also located in one corner and it was stacked up with many different interesting information and knowledge that was new to him.

the hall was tall and wide enough to be accommodated ten people the thick pillars supporting the high ceiling were impressive the female Wraith stood and waited silently and just observe him, as he took his time to understand his current situation and surroundings

the training hall that was connected to the Arena Main battleground had all the basic necessities anybody could ask for, ranging from medical items to preserve food and clean water,

Ramiel never questions the freshness of the food considering he was in a world filled with magical power, he has seen so many unbelievable things in this realm, and one of them was a spell to preserve food for a very long time,

the female Wraith assured him that the food here are edible and safe to eat, considering they need the warrior's help to break their curse, Ramiel ask about the first six warriors who came here and what was their story.

as he took an hourglass that was set for a day, As he sat at the centre of the training hall, he focused his attention on the hourglass, watching as the sand slowly trickled down. He listened intently to the story being shared, absorbing every detail and committing it to memory. With each passing moment,

he felt himself becoming more and more immersed in the tale. When it was over, he began to ask questions, seeking to deepen his understanding of the lessons contained within the female Wraiths' story.

he began to create a mental pattern that would help him apply these insights to his own. He knew that this process would take time and effort, but he was willing to put in the work. For him, learning was not just about acquiring knowledge; it was about using that knowledge to transform himself into a better fighter because he will challenge the Arena

Ramiel's ability to multitask was truly impressive. He could be reading a book or training with his favourite weapon while still paying close attention to every detail of the explanation given to him. His patience was also noteworthy; he never rushed through anything and always took the time to fully understand the task at hand. This made him an excellent team player, as he was always willing to help others and provide valuable input. Despite his busy schedule,

Ramiel never seemed overwhelmed or stressed out. He had a calm and collected demeanour that inspired confidence in those around him. It was clear that he took pride in his work and was dedicated to achieving success in all of his endeavours. Overall, Ramiel's multitasking abilities and patient nature made him an invaluable asset to any problem he face.

as the night slowly consumed the day Ramiel was satisfied with the information that was given to him, and requested that he will now rest and after a few hours of rest he shall set them free,

recalling the information starting from the first group to challenge the arena was seventy strong adventures that were five hundred years ago, non-survive,

after a hundred ten years another group of fifteen explorers with twenty high-level mercenaries, the six high Tier healers all dead

after thirty years another expedition of a battalion of soldiers all dead

the rest were all the same, with many challenges in the forsaken forest and facing the same ending as they reach this point, the lack of understanding on how to conquer the forest, and this is where they all failed to understand that the forest can never be conquered brute force or any amount of number and resources,

"the key to getting out alive was to Adapt, Learn, Overcome, and Survive,"
