Chapter 2 - Queen Ophelia

Sofia was so amazed by her boss yet again. The surprising part was she spoke so much in one day. Her secretary was always her mouth most times. But this time, she was running the business with anger in her and it felt like a battle she had to fight on her own. She looked at her boss' face and then she knew... Mr. Ricardo Sanchez had been duped by Miss Ophelia Alejandro.

"Miss Ophelia, how much did you get from this one?" the secretary asked carefully "well..." Ophelia started and smirked "it's his fault for not reading the contract properly" and that was all she said. Sofia knew from that statement that Mr. Ricardo had lost everything to Miss Ophelia because, the contract was prepared her Miss Ophelia herself. She opened the contract and slowly read what was written on it.

"Mr. Ricardo Sanchez, the CEO of Vision Oil corporation has made the decision of giving to Miss Ophelia Alejandro, CEO of Phelandro Empire back the land he had illegally obtained from her Father's company. In addition, he promises to give 590 billion dollars between the 7th of October 2022 to 11th October 2022 for compensation. If this money is not sent between this period, Miss Ophelia Alejandro has every right to sue Mr. Ricardo Sanchez to court.

SIGN:.... SIGN.....

Sofia's eyes went wide at the amount of the money. In her head, she began to convert the money into their currency. She almost went crazy at the amount. It wasn't the first time her boss did it but it was the first time she caused a hole in a person's business. She kept quiet in order not to loose her voice. Even though she has been with this woman for six years, she still knew her limits.

When they got to the car, Sofia tried opening the back door for Ophelia but she didn't go that way. Ophelia went to the driver's seat and opened the door. The driver looked at her with fear as she opened the door. He came outside while she went in the car.

" go back with the other car. I'm off to cool my head" she didn't wait for them and drove out. It was after their boss had driven out of the parking lot that the driver remembered he needed air to breathe.

Ophelia drove for two hours to a very secluded spot in Rimini. Her parents used to take her there when she was young to have quality time as a family. Her parents died in a car accident which she knew was planned. Her brothers and herself had to survive on nothing but themselves because their parents' properties had been taken away by the likes of their enemies. The only thing left were the business of their parents that never prospered no matter how had they tried.

Their mother's sister took them in and took care of them like her own children. When her brothers became of age, they took up most of their parents corporations and businesses that never seemed to success and began to build them from scratch. She also took up the businesses that were left for her and in six years, she and her brother had grown their empire to the biggest and also began to take back their parents' blood and sweat.

She arrived at the shore of the beach and came down from her car. She took off her 7 inch heels and dipped her legs into the sand loving the feeling she got from it.

Ophelia remembered how she would run around in the sand barefooted while her brothers chased after her and her parents laughed at them happily. She wished she could cry but her heart and mind had become too hard to allow such emotion to break in. She walked her way to the small restaurant at the far end while reminiscing over the past.

The old lady behind the counter smiled so widely, she almost became the joker. Before Ophelia even came in, she left the counter and went to embrace the girl.

"Ophelia..." She called with so much love as she embraced the girl. "come in" she pulled the girl in and gave her the best seat. The place wasn't high class at all. You could regard it as a place for low lives.

The door was made out of wood that looked like it had been through World War II and barely survived. It was almost falling off. The ceiling had so many holes that it affected business during rainy and snowy seasons. The tables and chairs always made creaky noises even without being touched at times. The place was falling apart but, the old lady never did anything about it and refused all help from Ophelia. Ophelia looked around and offered the woman for the umpteenth time.

"Can I just buy new chairs?"

"No"

"How about tables?"

"No"

"Chairs and tables?"

"No dear"

"I'll just fix the door"

"Not a chance"

"How about the whole place?"

"Really?"

Ophelia rolled her eyes. She never wins. "Just give me my usual " she sat down on her seat and awaited her meal with her head down to her phone.

She waited patiently for her food. When she saw the hand that dropped her meal was looking all masculine and strong, she looked up to see who it was.
