After school let's out, Jason waits in the parking lot to finally kill Mr. Miller and make it look like an accident. As Mr. Miller walks towards his car, Jason puts on his hood and slowly starts to walk towards him. As he gets close to Mr. Miller, he starts to hesitate, remembering that he's a kind man who doesn't deserve to die. He then let's out a sigh and puts his knife away.
"Shit." He mutters to himself.
At that moment, Mr. Miller turns around and sees Jason.
"Hey Mr. Han, how's it going?" Mr. Miller asks with a smile.
"Uh, it's going good. I guess." Jason says.
Mr. Miller then notices the look on Jason's face, realizing that's something's wrong.
"Ok, what's going on? Come on, open up to me. I swear this conversation stays between us." Mr. Miller says.
As Jason is prepared to tell him that nothing is bothering him, he pauses for a moment.
"I don't know what's wrong with me... lately it just feels like I've been... empty. I've spent most of my life being someone that I don't even want to be. I've done things that... I can't take back and, I don't know if I have a choice in what I do with my life."
"Listen, Jason, you're not the first kid to feel trapped in his own life, or feel like he doesn't have a choice. But you do. You can decide what you do with your own life, and you'll always have options. This is the time in your life to decide what kind of man you want to be. We all make mistakes, but they don't matter. Not as much as what you do moving forward." Mr. Miller says.
The teachers words hit Jason in his core, making him feel like he has opened his eyes for the first time in his life. Mr. Miller then reaches into his back seat and pulls out a book titled "The Artist and the Accountant".
"Here. This book might help you."
"What's it about?" Jason asks.
"It's about someone caught between what she wants and what other people want for them. It's a really great read. It was given to me by... this really amazing woman. She's caught in a tough situation right now and said that this book got her through some very hard days."
Jason notices the look on Mr. Miller's face and realizes that he actually cares about Marco Salvatore's wife.
"Thank you, Mr. Miller." Jason says.
Mr. Miller smiles.
"Don't mention it."
Mr. Miller then hugs Jason, surprising him a little.
"See you tomorrow in class." Mr. Miller says as he gets into his car drives away.
While Jason stares at the book in his hands, Richard Salvatore is in a car with the muscular guy from before, watching what just happened.
"What the fuck was that?" Richard asks.
"I knew that little shit couldn't get the job done. I told your father that we should've handled this in the family." The muscular man says.
Richard then thinks to himself for a moment.
"Take a few guys with you, put a bullet in the teacher, then find the kid." Richard says.
The man smirks.
"What about the old man?"
"He keeps saying he wants me to make my own decisions. We'll tell him after it's done."
The man shrugs.
"Works for me. I've been wanting to kill that little bastard since the first time I met."
They then drive away while Jason is still standing in the parking lot, thinking about what Mr. Miller told him. At that moment, he gets a call from someone, which surprises him because the only person who has his number is Frank.
"Hello?" He asks.
"Yo Jacob, it's Zach. Listen, Britney is throwing a party for the seniors and since you're a senior and Hailey has a major crush on you, don't tell her I said that, you should come by." Zach says.
"Sorry, but I-"
Jason is about to say no but slowly reconsiders.
"You know what? I'll be there." Jason says.
"Awsome, I'll send you the address. See ya soon." Zach says.
As Jason hangs up the phone, a smile appears on his face and he gets on his bike and leaves the parking lot. Meanwhile at the party, as many seniors dance and drink, Britney, Zach, and Hailey stand together talking about the party.
"I gotta say, this senior class party was a pretty good idea, Britney." Hailey says.
"Yep. Am I good or what?" Britney says.
At that moment Brad, the captain of the football team, walks in. Both Hailey and Zach scoff at the sight of him.
"Seriously? You invited Brad?" Zach asks Britney.
"Trust me, I didn't. One of the other cheerleaders must have told him."
Zach sighs.
"Looks I'm going to spend most of the night hiding instead of talking to cute girls." Zach says.
At that moment, Britney sees Jason walking into the party and smirks.
"Cute new guy just walked in." Britney tells Hailey.
Hailey looks over and sees Jason, unable to stop herself from smiling.
"I didn't even know that he'd be here tonight, I thought I'd have to wait until tomorrow at school to see him again." Hailey says.
Zach then pats Hailey on the shoulder.
"You're welcome." He says.
Her two friends then nudges her foward to talk to Jason. Both of their eyes finally meet and the smile at each other.
"Hi." Hailey says.
"Hey. This is some party." Jason responds
"I know, right? Britney is the best at throwing parties." Hailey says.
"I've kinda never been to a party before. What do we do first." Jason asks.
Hailey smiles, grabbing Jason's hand.
"Follow me, I'll show you." Hailey says.
Jason smiles and gladly follows Hailey. Soon the two make it to the beer pong table, watching people play.
"So the goal is to- get the ball in the cup and make your opponent drink?" Jason asks.
"Pretty much, and if you get it in all the cups in a row, you won't have to drink." Hailey explains.
Meanwhile Marty, the self-proclaimed Party Animal, beats another person at the game.
"Yeah! The king remains undefeated! Does anyone else want to step up!?" Marty yells.
Jason smirks, stepping forward to accept Marty's challenge.
"Oh, new guy, huh? Well since I am a generous king, I'll let ya have the first shot." Marty says.
Jason chuckles to himself.
"Thanks."
Jason then throws the ball perfectly, landing in one of the cups. Over and over again, Jason continues to land the ball in the cup, as everyone cheers and Hailey smiles. As Jason makes it into the last cup, the crowd goes wild and Marty steps forward, kneeling down infront of him.
"Ok, so this is happening now." Jason says.
"You have defeated me, sir. This crown now belongs to you." Marty says, holding an imaginary crown.
Jason smirks, pretending to take the crown.
"Uh, thanks. I'll wear it with pride, I guess." Jason says.
"Now, let's keep this party going!" Marty says, jumping through the table as everyone cheers and Jason is confused.
The young man then walks back over to Hailey.
"Congratulations. Your first time playing and you beat the champ." Hailey says.
Jason chuckles.
"What can I say, I'm a natural."
"The crown looks really good on you by the way."
"Really? Cause I thought it made my head look big." Jason jokes.
The two laugh and smile at each other for a moment. While the two laugh Hailey looks over and sees Brad picking on Zach.
"Jesus, this guy is such an ass." Hailey says.
Jason turns around and sees what's going on.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna go handle this." Hailey says.
She tries to go over there but Jason stops her.
"Allow me." Jason says walking over to them.
As Brad is about to pour beer on Zach, Jason quickly grabs him by the wrist and takes the cup out of his hand.
"What the hell?" Brad says.
"Leave him alone." Jason replies with a serious look on his face.
Brad then gets in his face to try intimidating him.
"I know you're new and all, but trust me, you don't want to get on my bad side."
Jason smirks.
"Funny. I didn't think you had a good one." Jason replies.
As everyone watches in anticipation, Brad laughs then throws a wild punch that Jason easily dodges. Brad is confused for a moment, then throws another punch that Jason again dodges.
"Oh, felt the breeze on that one." Jason tells him.
A frustrated Brad then throws a wild swing that Jason easily dodges again then throws a punch that stops inches away from his face.
"That was just a lucky shot. Come on, I'll go a little slower this time." Jason says.
Brad tries his best to hit Jason but the secret hitman easily avoids the attacks with ease. Then dodges one more big swing, causing Brad to fall on his face. As everyone laughs, Brad quickly runs out of the house and the crowd cheers for Jason.
"Thanks for the assist. Dude, you have got to teach me those moves." Zach says.
"I don't usually allow fights at my party, but I'll make an exception this time." Britney says.
"You were amazing. That was incredible. You were amazing." Hailey says with a smile.
Jason chuckles.
"You already said that, Hales." Britney says.
"Oh." Hailey says, embarrassed.
"I don't mind." Jason adds.
As the two smile at each other for a moment, Jason's phone starts to ring.
"Uh, hold on. Just give me one second." Jason says, stepping away.
He answers the phone, knowing that it's Marco Salvatore's number.
"Mr. Salvatore, look I'm sorry but I don't think I'm going to be able to-"
Before Jason can finish his sentence, a female voice starts talking.
"This is Mrs. Salvatore. My son knows you're not going to kill Brian, he's sent guys to kill him and then kill you, he lives on twenty twelve vinewood. Please, don't ley him die." She says.
"Wait-" Jason says but is too late as Mrs. Salvatore hangs up.
"Shit." He mutters to himself.
He then quickly walks back over to Hailey and her friends.
"Hey, I really have to go, there's something that I have to take care of. Thank you for inviting me though, I really wish I could stay. See you guys tomorrow." Jason says as he leaves in a hurry, confusing Hailey and the others.
Meanwhile, Jason drives as fast as he can to Mr. Miller's address, thinking to himself that this is the first time he has ever tried to save a life. He finally makes it to the address looking over and seeing four of Salvatore's men in a black suv, one of them loading a sniper rifle. He sighs, taking off his helmet and starts walking towards the group of men.
"What's going on guys? " Jason yells out them in a still friendly tone.
One of the men tries to load the sniper rifle as fast as he can but can't seem to get it.
"Now, now, now, now! Do it now!" The muscular man from before says.
Jason continues to walk towards the car.
"Hey!" He says.
"Shoot him! Take the shot! The muscular man yells.
"Don't point that gun at me." Jason says.
The man continues to struggle to load the sniper.
"I'm warning you, don't point that gun at me, you can still walk away." Jason says.
"Shoot!" The muscular man yells.
As thecshooter finally gets his sniper rifle loaded, Jason quickly shoots him and the three other men in the head with ease. As the four men are dead inside the SUV, Jason puts away his gun and walks towards his bike, letting out a stressful sigh.
"Fuck." He says to himself as the situation just got more complicated.
