Chapter 13 - Chapter 12 FOREST

Third person's pov

He felt her tremble but in his lust haze, he ignored it. Slowly his one hand traveled from the smoothness of her arms to the curve of her neck until they stopped at the straps of her dress. And with a snap, he removed them down her shoulders. Detaching his lips from hers, he connected them with the skin of her bare shoulders in a soft feather touch leaving goosebumps. His tongue flicked for a second on the skin. His teeth followed. Softly nibbling and marking it.

Meera was breathing heavily. She was moaning shakily because of his torture. Her lips were quivering uncontrollably. Her heart was heavy from the growing panic. The moment he said of losing control she felt a deep pit of dread in her stomach. She was on the verge of breaking down. Until now she handled and tolerated his kissing but it was getting difficult every second. He was going further and further. She couldn't find her voice to tell him to stop. Her hands held by his one hand struggled in his hold to be freed. And with a squeak, she cried out when he pulled her dress almost down her chest,

"Stop!!!"

freezing in place when he heard the desperation and fear in her voice, Elijah stood straighter looking at her face contorted in horror, eyes filled with tears, lips quivering. He felt his heart getting heavy. All the desire he felt a second ago vanished and drained instantly from his body. Why? He knows only one thing he didn't like seeing her vulnerable because of him. She was shaking in his hold and barely holding it in. He cursed himself inwardly for his recklessness in lust. His eyes traveled down her to see her dress barely covering her chest. A sob broke through the tense air between them. His eyes immediately fixed on her crying, the first tear dropped from her eye. And he felt his heart ache. Why? Releasing his hold on her, he turned around. He ran his hands through his hair frustratingly. He couldn't handle it, her like that. Sighing, he left her alone.

Meera couldn't hold her sob when he gazed at her chest. Her heart screamed in a panic to do anything to stop him from seeing anything. In horror, she cried. He again did it. With head down, silent tears streamed down her face. She promised herself that she would be strong enough to keep herself from breaking down in front of him, but how wrong she was. It was terrible whenever he touched her. Her stomach churned. Her skin crawled. She balled her fist tightly. Biting her lips she tried to muffle the sobs threatening to escape. She felt her arms being freed. Raising her head she saw his back towards her. Quickly her hands flew up to fix her dress properly. Facing the glass wall she wiped her tears and tugged her dress down. Taking a deep breath, she said lowly,

"How dare you! Who do you think you are? I never gave you consent to touch me! Yet, you not only touched but almost--"

she choked on her words. Swallowing the lump of cry in her throat, she continued in a shaky voice,

"Almost took away my dignity. I have always held my head up with pride but today you took it away. Yes, I couldn't stop you to cross the line, I lost my pride. And it freaking hurts! Alas, you don't care about it. Why would you? You're selfish enough to snatch everything from me without thinking about what it does to me!"

Sucking a deep breath, she paused. Firmly she spoke,

"Whatever you do, I am not going to submit easily. Know I will fight you"

and turned around to see no one. Furrowing her brows, she looked around the living room to find him nowhere. Clenching her dress in fists, she sighed shakily. He heard nothing, she concluded. She felt insulted and humiliated. And he was to blame. Opening the glass doors, she stepped out, inhaling the oceanic breeze. It calmed her nerves but not her heart which was hurt. She was missing her old life, and her parents dearly. Looking at the ocean was nostalgic, it was where her hellish life started. She chuckled in despair. She hated the ocean.

Unknown to her Elijah around the corner heard her and felt guilty even though he felt he shouldn't. She was his and he did nothing wrong. God, he never thought it will be so complicated to have her. But even if he knew he wouldn't change anything for she was worth it. A rare beauty all to himself. Heading upstairs he thought of his next move ignoring the guilt.

.................

"Come on! Hurry up!"

Elijah shouted, two feet ahead of Meera who was scowling at him. If it wasn't for the forest she so badly wanted to visit, she wouldn't even come with him. An hour ago, he came to her unannounced and dragged her down the track to the forest. And now ordering her around. She was not good at trekking for goodness's sake! He on the other hand looked as if he can climb a mountain without sweating a drop. Gritting her teeth, she ignored him. She hasn't forgotten what he did to her before coming here.

Elijah smiled looking at his adorable doe struggling to jump over a fallen log. She was resembling a kitten. So cute! Teasing her, he spoke up,

"We don't have the whole day, be quick"

fixing her gaze on him, she glared laser beams at him. Feeling humorous, he chuckled. She was freaking gorgeous. Walking towards her, he stood in front of her, log in between, saying,

"Look at you struggling. A five-year-old can do better than you"

"If you are here to make fun of me rather than help me, then get lost!"

Meera said feeling annoyed. Amusement danced in his facial features. He saw her trying to climb the log which was high up to her chest.

Her foot slipped and she landed back on the ground. The laughing sound filled the serene atmosphere of the green forest. The coolness from the tall trees providing the cold against the blaring heat of the sun didn't calm her. Huffing, she puffed out her cheeks. Her eyes burned holes in Elijah who laughed hard. Standing straight, she dusted her hands, saying,

"Done? Laugh more. What a sweet man, letting your wife break a sweat in this hot weather, enjoying her struggle standing on the side casually"

Elijah stopped laughing momentarily hearing her addressing herself as his wife. She acknowledged herself as his wife. He felt happy. She didn't seem to notice it but he on the other hand felt his inside tingle in joy unconsciously. He didn't mind her sarcastic remark. Jumping over the log, he hugged her suddenly.

Meera stood still in his arms, he was behaving strangely. First, he was mocking her, and now giving her affection. She was feeling irritated with him. Sighing frustratedly, she voiced out,

"What's with you? Leave me! Stop your strangeness!"

Elijah responded by smiling against the skin of her neck. Kissing her neck, he detached himself from her, and said before turning,

"Climb on my back"

gaping at him dumbfounded, Meera was silent in shock. Looking at her over his shoulder, he insisted before bending down,

"Don't be difficult now. Just jump. I will catch you"

Blinking her eyes, she started stuttering feeling flustered,

"No, no, no. No need I am fine"

"Doe"

he pressed leaving no room for arguments. Sighing, she slowly approached him. Feeling her cheeks flush in embarrassment, she jumped on his back who caught her bare thighs over her silk dress. Unconsciously burying her face in his hair in embarrassment, she clutched his shoulders. Smiling softly, Elijah tightened his hold saying,

"Hold tight doe, here we go!"

she softly wrapped her hands around his neck. Smiling in satisfaction, he climbed the log and jumped on the other side. He thought in his head, she was holding onto him like a koala. He can feel her tighten her hold in fright when he jumped. Assuring her, he told her,

"I won't let you fall, doe"
